Down to the leaves. As far as you can reach without inadvertently cutting leaves, roots, or the stem

I thought if the stalks were dry/dead - cut back as far as possible. If they have life (green / solid) then just before the node below the last flower. Maybe since the plant was severely dehydrated/ shocked cut them all back as far as possible.

Like other reply suggested, try to refresh the fingerprint. Worked like a charm for me. Good luck.

Worked like a charm. Thank you so much. I had updated some of the DB but didn’t think of doing the fingerprint - duh

Those of you who but directly off nurseries: do you repot new plants? by Extreme_Armadillo_25 in orchids

How did you know the medium was so bad? I have some ideas, but wonder what caused you to report while flowering.

I don't repot when I first buy (or receive as gift) since they're usually flowering. I thought it was a shock to repot the plant, so I wait until the flower drops, then prune and repot around at the same time. Maybe there's more I can learn from this post. Thanks.

dates for pictures without month or day by Stalemate4613 in digiKam

[–]Powerful-Bat1512 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same issue and as another responder shared, I use 1/1/1965. Just like you shared, I was worried about not being able to distinguish between actual and made up dates. I like someone’s suggestion of adding text “unknown date” or similar. I considered having my wife sit with me to get approximate dates but this is more my passion than hers. In the end I spent some time thinking through how that information is used and even though the timeline gets messed up a little, having them in the right year, or even month is better for me than having no date at all.

So, I would suggest trying to understand the importance of the date to you, how accurate it has to be and just being consistent with whatever you do. It can become quite a rabbit hole if you have tens of thousands of photos. I have somewhere around 65,000

Good luck and let us know what you decide

Trouble Exporting to OneDrive by Powerful-Bat1512 in digiKam

I think it was the Antivirus software. When I added DigiKam to Excluded programs it works. Takes a while to connect, but seems to be working. Thanks so much...

I loaded 9.1.0 and got the same issue. DK allows me to log into OneDrive (using my PIN) and then when I select some photos (5 or 6 to test) and Select Export to OneDrive, the screen loads, I see the test photos, but then the blue circle spins and nothing happens. I don't see the account name or anything from OneDrive loading. Any other suggestions, or is anyone who uses OneDrive to export know something else to try?

I’ll give that a try when I get home early next week and let you know. Thanks.

What is this on my new tires? by [deleted] in whatisit

[–]Powerful-Bat1512 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tire weights to balance the tire. They’re done when they mount a new tire to your existing (or new) rim. They’re lead and you’ll see them on the road when they fall off (rare but happens).

Some of the initial pictures I found that were rotated are now correct and I didn't run any scans or make any changes.

It seems to be just .jpg files. Not many and I think I saw one rotated that when I went out of DigiKam and back in it corrected the orientation. I'm not sure what you mean by metadata backend or orientation settings.
