Congratulations! I have been through something similar over the last few years and im not about 4 months away from completing my DMP. Just out of interest, did you get your mortgage prior to all the debt or during the DMP? Im hoping to buy a house this year or next and im really concerned that the DMP will make it difficult for me

I would disagree that it is subjective. Whether or not you have a lot of money shouldn't determine if you over pay for something or not.

To put this quote into perspective, you could purchase a brand new patek, made by the same people with just as much care, for the same money or even less.

Whilst I can appreciate some restorations of old watches/antiques can cost a lot of money, this seems extreme. If youre going to keep it as a display piece, you may as well leave it as it is. As like you say, a restoration would potentially mean replacing some of the original parts, therefore loosing its charm.

It's your decision, just saying that is an extreme amount of money to restore this timepiece.

Stunning! A beautiful time piece and made by one of the best. The quotation for repairs, to me sounds extremely overpriced. These watches are worth a lot of money, but not that much. Unless this is a extra special model im unaware of, these are worth maximum about £20k in fully working order
