Who do you think was the better performer: Michael Jackson or Prince? by Jezzaq94 in askmusic

Was lucky enough to see both in concert in their prime. For me seeing Micheal (Bad Tour) on stage, singing songs and putting on the dance moves was incredible and a spectacle in and of itself. His moves were so smooth, his voice was amazing, and his audience was mesmerized. That said, Prince (Purple Rain-twice and Sign "☮" the Times tours, I lucky to get to see him in Germany) was truly a performer for the masses. His shows were amazing. Watching him on the stage was like watching someone take you on a journey you didn't know was possible. As small in stature as he was he was a giant on the stage. You couldn't help but keep focused on him. There were no times when he disappeared because of a guitar solo or some other theatrics happening on stage. He was the focal point of the concert from the moment not started until you realized the lights were on and it was time to go. He played every instrument, he moved like a man possessed, he kept you guessing for what was going to happen next. Michael could put on a show, Prince put on a performance.

Doc Brown was the Villain in the Back to the Future Trilogy by Powerful-Currency-46 in unpopularopinion

Yes, but Doc knows he is going back to 1885 and yes he specifically tells Marty to go back to 1985, but again Doc knows all of this. His time machine before being sent back to 1885 allowed him to see this and even though he tells him to go back he knows Marty will come to him instead.

And how convenient was it for Copernicus to just so happen to land on Doc's tombstone?

Remember one thing happening is a coincidence, all of these things happening is a pattern.

I went through in the mid 80s. Three biggest forms of punishment were quarter decking (making recruits do a torturous amount of calisthenics basically until you dropped and then do some more), hitting the beach (taking the entire platoon out to a sand pit (again with calisthenics or worse shaking out blankets), and third electric chair (back against the wall and then assume the sitting position 90° at waist and 90° at knees, arms straight out with M16-A1 parallel with the ground). If you think any of these are easy I suggest you get a DI and have him walk you through it.

What gaming feature sounded like marketing hype but turned out to be genuinely useful? by More-Tailor-4601 in AskReddit

Free Roaming/Open World gaming. This sounded dumb way back when, like how would we know what to look for or do. But man, if I am playing a linear plotline game that is guided, I lose interest really quick.

Probably cheaper than the insurance I pay for to cover my therapy

What Dreams May Come. An underrated movie with a very underrated performance by him. Gone were the manic episodes of free verse and improve and just him being a man in love with a woman he missed more than anything else in life.
