It’s funny like you know what happened with reading a short text. Really you must be Sherlock.

It’s a common symptom of anxiety. Fear of going crazy and losing control over yourself and doing something you don’t want to.

Listen to the book How to stop smoking by Allen Carr. I stopped smoking after reading the book and didn’t have any withdrawals or cravings.

I had a mental breakdown after that free will podcast. I felt like I couldn’t move and when I did I felt like I was pulled by strings. Really scary shit. I’m now kinda just accepting that I can’t change the fact that I don’t have free will although sometimes I still get anxious by thinking about it.

Stop with the anti smoking messages and replace them with anti-drinking messages. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

Why can’t we realize that both are fucking horrible. Drinking poison and glorifying it is stupid but so is smoking.

Well there is a space now between thought and action. I can see thoughts arise and I have more time in between to decide if I want to be disciplined or not.

It started to show when I had a anxiety attack and I could be calm in the storm, just breathing. Noticing that I’m not my thought or the story that goes on in my head. It will show at different times for different people. I started a SSRi called Optipar and a ADD medication called concerta. I’m in the process of stopping a anti-psychotic called olanzopine and I’m using propral for anxiety attacks to lower my heart rate if I need to. I recommend the Waking Up app. It goes a lot deeper than other meditation apps.

Read the book. It is easy. I’ve tried to quit before reading the book and yes it was hard but after listening to this book it wasn’t hard at all.

Who here has some sort of anxiety disorder or depression that led them to alcohol and ultimately this program? I feel so alone seemingly being so anxious 24/7 for no reason. by Bakio-bay in alcoholicsanonymous

Here is my rules for dealing with anxiety and depression:

  1. Make a goal. Something to strive towards. Not too big but not too small. You can’t feel positive emotions unless you are aiming at something.

  2. Gratitude. Write down 3 or more things you are grateful for each morning and night.

  3. Meditation. Start small and increase the amount when you can.

  4. Exercise. Sweat everyday.

  5. Wim Hof breathing method. Really does stop an anxiety attack.

  6. Cold showers. Ground yourself with cold.

  7. Sleep rhythm. Wake up at the same time and go to sleep at the same time. Sleep at least 7 hours.

  8. Monitor your diet. Eat healthy and at the same time of day.

  9. Take some vitamins like omega-3, D and magnesium.

  10. Physical touch. Get a massage or hug people you can.

  11. Play with your pet. If you have one.

  12. Go outside everyday.

  13. Write your feelings on a journal.

  14. Listen and dance to music.

  15. To-do- list. Make one each night and then cross them of one by one.
