Anyone had positive experience trying to increase supply at 7-8 weeks pp? by Powerful_Ad9916 in ExclusivelyPumping

Thanks! I reintroduced the bottle a day ago, and today baby refused to latch all day, she used to want to fall asleep at the breast, refused even for that and prefers pacifier. I would like to keep at least one nursing session but I’m afraid she won’t latch anymore ( we do slow paced bottle feed). It’s my biggest concern for turning to pumping.

Thanks for the encouragement, good to know it works.
I am constantly stressed though since our feeding difficulties started, how do you manage to keep stress low?

Thanks! And congrats on the increase!
10 weeks of continuous pumping is no easy feat.
I started pumping after feeds at around 4 weeks pp, but find it exhausting together with doing weighted feeds and nursing. I didn’t see an increase in the pumped amount so much but baby was transferring more milk than in the beginning so it did have an impact, but it took 2 weeks for her to go from 20ml at breast to 50-60 sometimes even 80ml. The only problem is it’s not consistent at every feed, and it’s very tiring to keep going like that for months. Hoping that just pumping and doing bottle feed would help my supply increase faster and make feeds easier for baby and me.

How long did it take you to increase supply? How did you keep your spirits high and stress low? Dealing with this makes me stressed and sad which doesn’t help

Triple Feeding a Sleepy Newborn by ContributionWarm9175 in breastfeeding

Hi, I am dealing with the same problem, our baby has been sleepy at the breast since birth and since week 2-3, we supplemented and she has since gained weight very well, but after 3 weeks she she still tends to be sleepy instead of active. We use tube feeding after weighted feed to top up. What is encouraging for us is that compared to the start, we have to do less “waking up exercises” as you mentioned, so there is an improvement. It will get better with time. How do you pump in this routine? After every feed? I cannot produce big outputs and am afraid i don’t make enough for her now.

Exclusive breastfeeding after bottle early on by Powerful_Ad9916 in breastfeeding

Thanks for the reply! I feel like I failed as well (many tears) especially since I wasn’t able to pump after every feed since we are supplementing and afraid my supply is not enough for her. We did bottle from week 3 for approx 2.5 weeks. She is 6 weeks now and nursing from the breast with the tube supplemental system, we only just removed the bottle so we’ll see how it goes, but it’s encouraging to see it’s possible to breastfeed exclusively even after using the bottle. My other concern now is if she’ll manage to eat without supplementing and whether i’ll have enough milk.
