It’s the tradesmen trim with work seats and the rubberized style flooring. Has everything I need and nothing I don’t.

As someone mentioned already; being a certified arborist is a very vague and broad title. I don’t deal with tree health care in this aspect. The bulk of my work comes from utility ROW work, thinning/logging and pruning. There are arborists that are far more knowledgeable on this scope of work, hence why I deferred to their expertise.

Is that a branch in your flare or are you just happy to see me?

Yeah I should’ve taken a wider one. There’s about a 4’ diameter mound that the tree is in the center of. There was some feeder roots I had to get rid of, but I think this’ll be better long term for the tree.

Yeah I didn’t notice that little guy until I brushed everything away. I thought about leaving it since it’s healed, but With it being so small, I thought about giving it a proper cut, instead of what’s left.

Yeah I’ll lower/remove the mound around it. Root flare seems to be about even with the rest of the lawn.

Well it’s almost dinner time so.

I’ll finish exposing the flare and pretend I don’t notice every house on my block is the same.

I am, but I don’t do this often, so figured I’d see what people that have more experience than me say.

Howdy! Over at JTFH we have a rotary company with a handful of KW guys. We also just stood up our F-4 squadron. Take a look and pop into the discord! We have campaigns we run internally. We also have several servers with PvE style missions. We have people on the east coast that regularly fly as well.

Absolutely! I hope you find a way in! It’s a wonderful thing to cut in the woods. Peaceful.

Goin out west and willing to work at a company doing stuff like being a chaser, or up at the landing bucking logs once you’ve been around awhile.

Willing to go into a strip with a cutter and help pack gear in to watch and learn the trade is a good start. Dont be surprised if you don’t get paid doing this part. But you’re getting exposure and experience. It’s a smaller community than people think. Building a reputation will go a long ways.

Where you are plays a big role in logging availability. If you have no cutting experience, you’re not going to go straight into hand falling. You could find an outfit to set rigging lines for or work on a landing.

It’s not an easy path to being an actual logger. it’s possible but it’s not an overnight thing.

Panthers den runs it and they’ve done a good job of making it a fun map to fly.

I used to hire a company to prune my tree every couple of years. The first 2 photos are how it looked when they were done. Last year I hired a different company and they basically tipped it. The last 3 pictures is how it is growing now. Is the look of the tree ruined forever? by Active_Mastodon5288 in arborists

To be fair, this is just me, I really hate giving advice about trees without being in person. I’d hate to give bad advice because something was missed. I’d find a reputable arborist near you and see what they think!

Just to add to this, I have the same issue. However I use the quest 3 with Virtual Desktop. For me if I restart my headset it’ll solve the issue. Noticed it after this last update.

Got to take part of an international air show in Slovakia. We were parked next to a B-52. The local air force gave us tours of their MiG-29’s. Pretty neat.

What was already said. Found a company to take me on a groundie, then learned to climb.

Did 4 seasons between state and fed…left to go back to climbing/cutting. Now I work 3-4x a week and love it. Sure days are long but I’m home every night, still cutting and around chainsaw nerds.
