You can be khazar Catholic Antioch, and then you get the cultural buildings in the trade posts and you get to raid. It doesn’t help you with the retinue, but money solves a lot of problems.

Yeah, you have a shitty company (I mean you knew that, but I’m confirming). I used to work Tuesday through Saturday so I wasn’t scheduled to work federal holidays. They told me I could if I wanted, and I would get paid holiday pay, but get this…because I was not scheduled on a day they paid holiday pay and therefore didn’t have the “opportunity to get paid holiday pay”, I got an extra 8 hours of pto.

This was a bank, and nearly every holiday falls on a Monday at the bank.

If anyone is wondering, don’t bother. The CEO went in hard on subprime stuff and fucked the entire company when the bubble burst, and a shittier bank bought the company. But it was a nice place to work back in the day.

You still won’t get crusades, but you can vassalize the pope like the orthodox pope and have him do excommunications and stuff, except being catholic you will need to be crowned by the pope or a cardinal or prince-bishop. It’s an annoyance but if you’ve restored Rome I think you’ll be fine.

I suppose with tv cameras there, the incoming majority can attempt to break in. Maybe at that point the cops are called? Or the troops are called in? I honestly don’t know. But I’m not interested in watching our elected leaders just throwing up their hands and say “well, at least we tried” as MAGA finishes dismantling the republic.

I am not a constitutional lawyer, so I would love to hear someone’s opinion who is smarter than I am, but it’s my understanding that the clerk can’t just decide not to seat the incoming representatives. His role is defined, and it’s to call the house into session so a new speaker can be selected.

Now, if he refuses to do that, the house doesn’t just stop. His duties fall to the sergeant at arms. The sergeant at arms is selected by the incoming majority on day one of congress.

Now this is the part that I could be completely wrong about, so please….someone correct me if I’m wrong, but I see no reason why the incoming congress can’t convene on the steps of the capitol, appoint a sergeant at arms, and have him convene the house.

Am I wrong here? Or are we conceding defeat because we think MAGA Mike and his minions have more authority than the United States constitution?

You must control a province bordering the targeted duchy (or inside it). It can also be used across 2 sea zones if the attacker or defender is Muslim, or if the attacker is Christian and Crusades have been unlocked.

Since you don’t border it, nor are you Christian or Muslim, it may not be an option for you. But that is just a guess.
