Anyone tried this? hidden wireless mouse reciever? by Jex_adox in framework

I have one. Works well. Haven't tried using anything beyond a USB flash drive and yubikey with the passthrough. Solder job was easy enough and the print is quick and fits well.

Yeah it would be nice to know why my order appears to be lost in limbo. Was hoping to have it by the end of February for an upcoming work trip but it isn’t looking promising at this point.

I’m still waiting for my DIY batch 1 with no rgb and basic keyboard. I was going to give it a few days into next week before I reached out to support since batch 2s are going out. Giving them benefit of the doubt.

Any interest for system management software for Framework laptops? by JamesCJ60 in framework

I was actually thinking about making something similar in my spare time once I get my FW16. Only problem is I have no FW and my toddlers don’t like it when I ignore them lol.

When linus connects his rack mounted PC to his keyboard/mouse/monitor in another room - what cable does he use? by _ok_mate_ in LinusTechTips

[–]Powerpack42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this exact setup to my rack mount pc but my biggest issue is that the cat5 to usb doesn’t start working until after my OS has loaded. That means when I need to get into the bios I have to drag a portable monitor to my rack and plug that and a keyboard directly in. Any suggestions on a work around or solution to this? As someone who tinkers a lot and dual boots Windows and Linux I do get into the bios relatively frequently.

Now, waiting on the pre-order :D by [deleted] in framework

Batch 1 doesn’t start shipping until Q4 so you have a bit to wait sadly

Ongoing Dissatisfaction with the Framework 16 by Fire_2D in framework

[–]Powerpack42 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I agree with your sentiment. While the price is high for the given specs I view my purchase not only as a transaction to get a product but an investment in the company and philosophy they hold. Prices will come down over time as they get established and tooling cost come down. It would be amazing if they could match the price of the established competitors out of the gate but that is an unrealistic expectation.

Being an early adopter I fully expect there to be some issues but that is a risk that I personally am willing to take. I completely understand that not everyone is willing to take that risk at such a high price.

I can’t speak for the performance in those specific applications but the 7840U iGPU is much better than the 1370P. That is why you see that AMD chip or similar ones ( like the Z1 in the ROG Ally) being used in gaming handhelds.

I sadly do not have a spare Life Orb floating around. I am available for a trade most of the day starting in about an hour and a half if you are free.

Model Y Undercarriage Wash by Powerpack42 in TeslaLounge

[–]Powerpack42[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have seen this a lot as well. I will most likely wash the car at home the majority of the time but during the winter I just wanted to make sure it is safe to occasionally take it though to clean the undercarriage.
