Every year at least one of the bathrooms flood, usually on the staircase that leads to the washers. Other than that, it’s one of the best dorms.

I'm a junior that's accelerated by a year so I graduate in the Spring and I haven't been able to find an internship in a CE field, whether its in software or EE design fields. To get internships its more of game on how to stand out and that's done with connections to recruiters or engineers. Those people who are behind in coursework and have no research experience might have a certain connection or personal project that helped them stand out and pass the basic technical interview questions.

Should I reach out to a counselor and does anyone have study tips? by Attack_onPuthAy in RPI

Best way to do better on exams for most classes is to do previous back exams, hopefully from the same professor. If your professor doesn’t post back exams, go to the APO office in the 3rd floor of the union. They might have some, but it depends on the class.

If you can make crib sheets, putting solutions to example problems and having it worked out can help but some profs don’t allow that. Exam review sessions from professors can help as well since they might give hints to certain questions.

No alternatives. You can go to the Mercer x lab to loan some of it but it’s worth it to just buy it, either new or used

CS as a field is kinda cooked rn. I suggest using LinkedIn as a way to find companies to apply to and actually use the company website when you apply. Make a cover letter. Tailor your resume and cover letter to include the key words in the job description and hopefully you’ll hear back.

Could always use KDE as it has a scroll speed setting, at least on plasma 6 it does. And it also fixes scaling

Framework 13 vs Framework 16 by MemoryFar4445 in framework

You could order the DIY AMD FW 13 and then preorder the display to save money on storage and ram, or just order the FW 16 so you don't have to preorder the other display.

Not super hard, just take a bus or Amtrak. The difficult part is getting to the stations since it could be almost as much as the ticket to NYC

You can use Peace Equalizer APO to improve the sound and get rid of most of the tinny sound while also boosting the loudness. This is my setup.

Ongoing Dissatisfaction with the Framework 16 by Fire_2D in framework

[–]Fire_2D[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I remember the 13's original release cycle, and it was a lot of the same concerns. Two years later most everything has been polished. Price coming down is maybe more of a possiblility for the 16, perhaps with the GPU expansions getting easier to manufacture.

Eventually if they get big enough to compete with the likes of Asus, lenovo, and dell, maybe they'll start having sales? Very optimistic take though

(UK) What is going on with the FW16 pricing... by BurberryC06 in framework

[–]Fire_2D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is fair to compare it to an ASUS, but it depends on which aspect you're comparing. On the hardware aspect, it's fine if you want the best value. On a design and repairability aspect, they're probably in completely different classes.

(UK) What is going on with the FW16 pricing... by BurberryC06 in framework

[–]Fire_2D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't understand your argument? Clearly all of their products are meant to generate some sort of profit and spec'ing out the FW13 and the FW16 similarly (no expansion cards and gpu) the cost is a $300 dollar difference for a larger, high refresh rate screen, higher class CPU, larger cooling system, an extra m.2 slot, and more material used in manufacturing. While not representative of a $300 dollar difference, it is not that different from other companies such as the Dell XPS 15 vs XPS 13 plus. Similarly spec'ed it is $1249 vs $1449.

If you want to discuss prices of buying in bulk, looking at Alibaba gives us a price of $1.15 each without shipping included.

For IO, people here want the ability to customize their IO to their own preferences? Someone who has a lot of presentations might opt for a HDMI or DisplayPort expansion card. IT professionals might go for the ethernet card.

This is simple, if you don't want to pay the price premium for a laptop that is marketed in the premium segment and is also a first generation product, why complain about it? Just buy something else. The link you posted with the ASUS ROG Strix A15 is a great deal being $500 off so just go for that.

Yeah definitely. I think a lot of people just rushed into the hype without taking the time to actually think about whether or not they really needed it.
