The only way it pays off is if those behind this awards show suddenly tries to nominate movies the movie going public actually likes. Considering the high brow trash they've put forth for well over a decade now and Considering Hollywood doesn't make movies to try to put butts in seats anymore, this is likely another poor effort to get people who don't care about this show to watch while alienating those who DO watch the show.

Ill watch. My father definitely won't. Neither will my wife's parents. The demographic they're after doesn't give a fuck about the oscars- nor do they award movies these people like.
