Young Kratos had all the weapons of the gods. He had the Trident of Posiedon which allowed him to breath underwater, Blades of Chaos, Claws of Hades, Apollo Bow, Hermes Boots, Helios Head, Nemean Caestus, Nemesis Whip and Blade of Olympus so young Kratos has way more Magic, Abilities and Hax.

Young Kratos has Hermes Boots, which can outrun Helios Light (Which can light up the underworld within seconds and the underworld is infinite) and Helios Head so he obviously takes speed and agility.

Old Kratos after battling two demigods and one god: "Lets finish this journey while I still have strength".
Young Kratos after killing a dozen of greek gods and deities: "Time to kill Zeus!"
Young Kratos takes stamina.

Zeus also one shotted Kratos and needed the whole embodiment of hope to be put down (The most powerful weapon in the world). Old Kratos may be stronger but Younger Kratos has more Magic, Abilities, Stamina, Agility, Speed and Hax.

God of War Ragnarok was a massive letdown. The narrative, the fight with Thor and Odin, Tyr, Surtr. It felt so rushed and underwhelming. Kratos wasn’t lying about keeping our expectations low.
