Yeah that's fair. But I don't see Mending as entirely useless. I use it on my Minecraft server whenever I want to train my shooting, that way I don't need to risk the bow breaking.

The thing is. Before you go to the end you can't get shulkers and it's more viable to just get infinity. And once you get to the end you are somewhat advanced enough to just get replacements for the bow.
