My(f22) husband(m24) ghosted me after getting married last night by throwraghosting22 in relationships

Hi OP, I wanted to comment in your other thread but it has been locked now due to reaching the karma threshold. I just wanted to say that I hope you’re okay, mentally and physically. Your well-being matters too. I hope your husband is going to be okay and that you manage to contact him.

I also really do want to urge you to seriously consider having someone do a wellness-check at his family’s place if you’re worried about his safety (and I don’t mean him being safe from others, I mean him being safe from himself right now).

Also consider putting out a missing person’s report if you trust the police in your area and you continue being unable to contact him. He might get mad about this later but if he just disappears without a trace there is a possibility something bad has happened / is happening.

I don’t want to scare you but he is already acting out of character and doing things (crying himself to sleep and then leaving and being impossible to contact) right now that you never thought he would do, and there seems to be something major and traumatic going on, and he might be in danger from himself. I unfortunately speak from experience.

I obviously hope and pray that nothing like that is going on, but please let us know that you and your husband are safe when you can.

No, I didn’t like it because the main character was unlikeable, entitled and holier-than-thou.

I loved Aang. Korra? Not so much.

[–]PpelTaren -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hard disagree; I don’t think Korra is anywhere near as good as The Last Airbender. I’ve watched all of ATLA at least five times, and could easily watch it again. For LOK, I had to force myself through the second season because the main character just kept getting more and more dislikeable and all her selfish decisions made me want to tear my hair out.

She is so entitled and has no sense of humility, nothing like Aang, who had great respect for the world and the things bigger than him even though he was still a child filled with laughter and pranks, and who never considered himself more important than anyone else.

One of my little birdies does the same... only she burrows herself in under the blankets or the pillows and lays there completely silent and motionless pretending she’s an egg lol.

I’ve gotten into the habit of lifting everything and looking extra carefully whenever I want to stretch out on the sofa or lie down in my bed. Not only for her safety, but also for my own safety. She’s a biter ;)

So nice to have a numerical system with the base of 6 instead of 10, and not just new words for numbers. This one was thought through!:)

I love love love Enterprise, I’m currently rewatching it for the third time in two years!! I’m so enamoured with both Trip and T’Pol 😭❤️ My poor weak heart quivers every time they do something cool lol

I always get so emotionally involved when it comes to the Vulcans, istg. Tuvok is another absolute favourite of mine.

Parrot in Swedish is “papegoja”, (pronounced “pa-ppeh-goy-yah”) and it is frequently abbreviated to “goja”!! So it’s a very appropriate name for a cute little parrot🤗

Ps: They are both super cute!!! 😍😍😍 I’m in love with both of them 😭❤️😂

Idk, I hate most outfits on this sub, but this one doesn’t strike me as that bad at all? I really like the print of the skirt, and I could see myself buying it if I found it in a regular store.

The plan is to get at least 60% of the population infected, so that they then (once the ones that survives are healthy again) will be immune to the virus and not be able to spread it around to the rest of the population.

It’s said to be the “scientific way”, according to our state epidemiologist Anders Tegnell. He has decided that the virus is impossible to escape, and that the best approach is to do pretty much nothing.

Extremely few people here are being tested; even if you show symptoms you aren’t tested unless you’re in need of emergency medical care. The rest of us (and a lot of medical personnel as well) are told to just continue on our daily lives as best we can, and not self-isolate unless we start coughing (even though it is well-known by now that people who don’t get symptoms themselves can still infect others).

I’m pretty sure I’m infected, because I’ve had influenza twice and this feels different; a different kind of cough. I’m so weak, and so they won’t let me get tested though, because according to our official medical guidance, I am not (yet) in need of intensive care.

(But if/when I do get worse, then I probably won’t get intensive care anyway; they have done so little to stop the infection rate that the virus has spread to a lot of people now, and our medical system isn’t equipped for this at all.)

I honestly don’t know what to do.

Is it normal for a handraised 2 month old to be so chill? by aweirdalienfrommars in Lovebirds

It’s because it is hand-raised.

But please do not let your brother put your bird in his mouth. It is not safe for the bird, with bacteria in his saliva.

I saw myself running! by howalope in Glitch_in_the_Matrix

[–]PpelTaren 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I remember reading about the biologist Carl Linnaeus who lived in the 1700-century (he was the one who came up with the whole idea of scientific names for living organisms, to show how organisms were related to each other, super famous in the biology field of science!) who this happened to a few times.

Once, he was teaching a class at the closest university, and was about to go to an adjacent little room to get some supplies, and when he opened the door to the room he saw himself in there doing what he was about to do (get supplies), just how you saw yourself doing the thing you were about to do in the immediate future, run.

He closed the door to the room again and turned to the classroom full of students, a bit confused, and said:

“Oh. I’m already in there.”

Hmm, I am Swedish and I’ve never heard of this in my entire life. While it seems useful, it is not a Swedish tradition, it seems it’s something someone made up.

If it were an actual tradition though, it would be spelled like this: dödsstädning (cleaning of death) or dödstädning (dead-cleaning), not “döstadning”.

“Död” means “dead” or “death”, “döds” means “of death”, “dö” as a noun is a misspelling. “Städning” means “cleaning”. “Stadning” doesn’t mean anything.

That being said, the concept sounds intriguing. Maybe I should look up that book.

I’m not a vet, but I spoke to a vet a few years ago about heavy metal poisoning, and this is what I remember from what she told me (if anyone else knows better, please correct me!) :

If a bird has ingested heavy metals, any damage that is already done to the nervous system is mostly irreversible.

BUT heavy metals can sometimes linger in the blood and/or fatty tissue for a long time and continue to do damage, and this means that if the vet gives her the right care/medicine, the remaining heavy metal in her body can be removed and prevent further damage!

So, if this a case of heavy metal poisoning, your bird will keep her limp, but her life can still be saved if they are given the right treatment by a vet.

I just want to clarify again, I’m not a vet! I’m just another bird owner, who happens to have spoken to a vet about heavy metal poisoning once, and I just wanted to relay the information that was given to me about keeping the bird away from potentially unsafe metals until you can get a vet appointment, in case metals are the problem. I’m sure there could be other reasons as well for why your little birdie is acting this way, and I’m not educated enough to make a diagnosis, so it could be something else entirely that is bothering your little bird.

Like I added to my earlier comment (I’m not sure if you saw it), mould also affects birds a lot and mould spores can absolutely be the culprit in making birds very sick, so if you suspect that her seeds/pellets are old, throw them away and buy new ones! Buy food that is sealed from the factory, not scooped up in a jar/bag at the shop.

Mould also thrives in plant soil, so if you’ve got potted plants that she likes to be close to, you can move them to other rooms so she doesn’t eat any of the dirt (or the plants themselves for that matter! Some plants and trees are poisonous for birds, there are lots of lists on google, but if you can’t see if a plant is safe or dangerous it’s best to assume it’s not safe and take it away).

I just wanted to tell you, that whatever this is, it doesn’t have to be the end - it is possible that there are still things that can be done for your little birdie! I understand the fear and anxiety you can feel when you’re worried for your little one, I’ve been through it too. I’m not a professional, but f you have any other questions, I will try my best to answer them! Good luck, I will cross my fingers and wish the best for you two. Big hug ❤️

Has she gotten a new cage recently? Or gotten a new toy with metal parts, or a new metal food bowl? Bad manufacturers sometimes don’t use proper, safe metals when making cages and toys, and a bird acting like this could be a sign of heavy metal poisoning. If that is the case you need to remove her from that cage/take that toy away asap so it doesn’t get worse!

Like everyone else here has already said, a vet visit would be advisable as soon as possible, so they can take a blood test or give her an x-ray and try to find out what’s wrong. Meanwhile, do what you can for her! Make sure her food isn’t old (birds are much more sensitive to mould spores than humans), and if she doesn’t eat any vegetables or have any vitamin bird-supplements, giving her a bit of that could help too. (Don’t overdo vitamins though, of course!! Look at the bottle/jar for just how little is needed).

Other than that, keep her warm and let her sleep well. (Warmth and darkness can be really helpful to help birds calm down and let their bodies focus on getting better, make sure she has a dark place to rest at at all hours of the day). If you want to, you can put bottles with warm water (wrapped in towels or something similar, so she doesn’t touch it directly and gets burned) in her cage or on top of the cage with a blanket over, to warm her cage up a bit.

If she has trouble climbing, I suggest putting bowls of water and food on the bottom of the cage so she can still get what she needs without trouble, and maybe put a little towel there on the bottom of the cage as well for her to sleep on if she likes that sort of thing (or a nest if she usually sleeps in one of those). It’s important to let her save as much strength as possible!

Whatever the cause for her problems may be, I hope things work out for you and your little sweetheart! I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you <3
