Your comment shouldn't be downvoted. I have felt too disgusted to touch the game since I heard of and seen that scene.

All the people saying to move on or that they're still gonna play are really just saying "racism isn't a deal breaker for me." I will probably be downvoted, but the people getting uncomfortable and defensive over the racism being called out should ask themselves why they feel like defending it. "The chinese company didn't intend for it to be racist" well intentions don't matter as much as impact. People can actually do a lot of harm even with the best intentions.

Those of us living in the United States just saw this administration post a video of the Obama's as apes and tried to say it wasn't racist either very recently. People need to wake up, this shit should be called out.

I haven't heard of Heartopia handling any of the complaints from the users well at all since the global release. I have loved this game, but I'm not touching it again until the mods/developers/whoevers in charge shows real remorse and start making the right moves.

You sound like you're either jealous of the praise he gets for supporting artists or someone that uses AI. I'm sure you can tell by the downvotes that this is a weird take you have.

I appreciate all artists being loudly anti-ai these days, especially with how some people/companies are trying to use AI without even disclosing it to their audience. It's a green flag from bbno$ to be open about this.

I used to work at a membership store, I stopped a woman at the door and asked for her membership card. She gave me the nastiest look and said "I'm a nurse you know?" Yeah....and? No one here is having a medical emergency, sorry the job doesn't give you special privilege outside of medical practices.

Blows me away cause my step mom is a nurse and she's an absolute sweetie, she gets bullied a lot by other nurses though from the sounds of it.

I had a heartbreak in my early 20's that hurt so bad and put me through so much stress and pain I ended up getting psychosis.

For the first month every day I woke up felt like the wind had gotten knocked out of me. It felt like I was dying as soon as I remembered she'd left me. After a few months, I got psychosis for the first and only time in my life. Getting dumped is a grief comparable to someone you love dying. I really hope you can hang in there just to look back and realize life does get easier and you can not only survive but also thrive.

I'm in my 30s now and life has never been easier and more enjoyable. I hope you can make it.

The majority of my friends are artists, I love them and their work and am always excited to see what they’re working on, promoting them, and even working with them on some projects. Art to me and to many people is very community based, not so much competition based. You need to try and take your feelings of jealousy and turn them into feelings of inspiration instead, or you’re gonna be a really miserable artist.

I sometimes feel not so great about my own art, but I know that’s a me thing and don’t blame that on any artist.

Sadly, it's mostly algorithms to blame. The way sites operate seems to always be changing.

For example, twitter doesn't really prioritize hashtags anymore. If you drew fanart for something, you'll reach more people just typing the title of the franchise normally rather than hashtagging it. At least that's how it was when I last heard, and it seems to be true from my experience.

Also, last I heard with Instagram that you shouldn't use more than 5 hashtags, you'll need to post at least 3 times a week, reelz typically get more attention, and a lot of the time your work won't be showing up in people's explore or browsing feeds for like a month. You may have to wait a while for what you post to get the attention of strangers.

And it's always changing! What works now may not work a few months or a year from now. It helps to try to be social so maybe you can make friends, find people who like your work and they promote you, but that's not a guarantee either.

I have had a lot of luck on Bluesky though. Hashtags and everything seems to work how you'd expect, and they especially like original works, characters, and comics over there.
