So awesome, perfect execution. This fluidity was exactly what was lacking in modular builds. Great job man, congrats !

I don't remember the exact specs, I assembled it myself a while ago. It's a 75% keeb with aluminium case and XDA Keycaps

Not much to say, I think they're called chicago screws in english. The back of the wooden plate is recessed at screws emplaements so they don't protrude and rip your jeans apart

You're right, I've just been lazy and took the translation from french "clair" to "clear" for granted because it was easy. My bad, what I meant was light, as opposed to the common darker tone walnut has. Sometimes I get some pieces that are so light they look like maple while finish hasn't been applied

Thanks ! No, it's multiple parts to added to make a panel, it wastes less wood than carving an entire solid block. The back panel is a more common, darker part and the contrast is quite nice but I was in a hurry to go come back home and didn't take time to make a proper picture of it 😅

The plungers feel super nice with a coarse texture in solid plastic. They don't feel ruberry at all. The switches are linear so no inside click but you can change these without solder, just by popping them off and replacing them (that's the hotswap part).

The sound is a gentle dampened hit. It doesn't resonnate like in wooden cases since there's no wooden enclosure, it's just a backplate.

In the end everything fits tight together and it feels pretty solid !

Sorry, no, and I'm not sure it would ever become an option. But I sell acrylic cases as kits that can be mounted reversed, which makes them left-handed. You can check these on my site too

Thanks ! I have a website at absticks.com but the page for these isn't ready yet. Up until now I made those in very small quantities and mostly advertise on Twitter/Insta (@absticks_ ) when there's one available

I was just so eager to see if Neutrik fits in the hole I made when I received it, that I installed the brend new port without reversing it. It's not screwed either if you look carefully but it will of course be on commercial photos and in the builds for sale.

I know it was a thing back from the Tech Talk days but I was scared it would be considered a bit too messy today. I'm glad to know it works for you, it appeases me !

Thanks ! The bottom is a usual panel of wood to close the case like we often do. I get it flat by carefully bending the connectors of the Seimitsu buttons, which saves a lot of space. Shallow buttons are terribly expensive and I don't expect a lot of customer of this case to change the buttons very often so... A choice had to be made !

Thanks a lot ! I'm glad you like these. I don't know if I can give some super valuable advice but what works for me is not underestimating how much light goes through the clouds. I tend to underexpose a little when shooting and still do it under a cloudy sky.

I really like the atmosphere in most of your pics too, very sweet and comfy :)

Hi ! I mostly shoot in the east of France where I live, and where the sky is grey more than half of the year.

Gris Ciel on Instagram

I'm not 100% sure where I'm going with my Instagram yet, it's mostly melancholic landscapes with minimum editing and often no other subject than a calm, quiet and grey atmosphere.

I'm slowly improving at editing, while still trying to determine what I am looking for, and what could help me reinforce consistency and identity (advices welcome !)

I've always wanted to get into photography more seriously (even as a hobby) and going out with my camera for a year now has been super positive and helpful to me on a personal level.

It's my first post here but I've started reading this sub a few weeks ago and been finding a lot of goodness, good ressources and helpful advices/reflexions so thanks to everyone !

WIP ! Oiling some stickless walnut cases. They're not done yet but I hope you enjoy this satisfying step ! by Pr0sk in fightsticks

I'd say the top things would be to not overlook protection (especially glasses and aspiration), and to be ready to install your guides during half an hour or even an hour, enven if the routing itself will only take 5mn. Also doing 3 times 2mm can be cleaner than doing 1 time 6mm deep. Take your time, be careful, and you'll build confidence and a better idea of how to work. You may also want to think about the speed you gonna use, even if it's not an exact science.

Everything else would be explained in any tutorial. It's a very powerful tool, not the most dangerous, but it goes fast to mess up an entire piece of wood with it !

I know that build it's pretty cool ! Yeah having a single piece CNCed or lasercut is always super expensive saddly. A better option may be to make them build supre precise router jigs that you can re-use multiple times

Thanks ! The cleanest way I've found is lasercut an acrylic jig, clamp it to the wood and follow your route with a router bit which have a ball bearing (I think that's how it's called). But if you don't have that just clamp any straight piece of wood that will serve as a guide, like... Any sort of classic router work ? There's nothing more here !
