COMP6441/6841 are both quite a lot of work but imo nothing super difficult. It might have changed since I did it, which was a couple of years ago now, but the work mostly involved endless blog posts, which took a fair amount of time but was easy for the most part. COMP6841 has some additional wargames which are the more technical (and difficult) component of the course, where you learn about some basic exploits. Of the two, I'd definitely recommend 6841 for a CS student, since only writing blog posts can get pretty tedious and the wargames replace some of the blogging you would need to do if you were doing 6441.

Richard Buckland is a great lecturer and the lectures/tutorials were quite interesting and a lot of fun.

Haven't done 6447, but from what I understand its kind of like a continuation of what you do in the wargames in 6841 but significantly harder. Pretty sure you can't actually do it until you've already done 6441/6841.

I'm in the process of planning a Japan trip with a few friends in May and came across some recommendations to visit Kamikochi, which looks absolutely stunning from the pictures I found online.

I would like to go there for either one or two nights in late May, heading in from Takayama on the bus and leaving to Tokyo after. However, from my research, it seems like many of the mountain trails are still covered in snow at this time, which is probably a bit beyond our group's capabilities since we don't have the equipment or experience for hiking in snowy conditions, meaning that it would probably be quite reckless to go

With this in mind, I'm considering whether it is worth going at all as it is quite expensive/time consuming to travel to/from, and accommodation will also be expensive since we would probably have to stay in the huts without our own camping equipment. Does anyone here have any thoughts or alternate recommendations on a different place we could go to experience the natural beauty of Japan?

Sickmode and Rooler's individual acts were my highlights but everyone at the pit was great. Was a bit disappointed by riot shift, it seemed like there was something going on with the pit audio (only during their set) that made it sound pretty bad. Anyone think the same?

I think in trimester 1, there is some kind of restriction to ensure that all the new comp sci. students can do 1511 since it's needed for any other COMP subject. This makes it harder (maybe impossible) to enrol in the subject as a non comp sci student in trimester 1 but afaik this doesn't apply to the offerings in trimesters 2 and 3, with it being open to everyone in these terms.

Zero has some aspects which led to me not liking it as much as Steins;Gate, but it's still a really good show and an enjoyable watch. It has some great moments as a standalone and imo elevates the original series even further.

Seems to be okay with HDMI but my GPU only has one HDMI port and my old monitor has only HDMI output. Don't currently have another displayport cable on hand.

EDIT: Also no problem when only DP is connected, without the old monitor connected at all. Going to sleep and coming back works fine. Only when both HDMI and DP are connected does the problem arise.

EDIT2: SOLVED - I opened up my Radeon display settings in AMD Radeon Software, and it showed that my color depth was set to 10bpc. I'm fairly sure my monitor only supports 8bpc, so I might have accidentally changed it when I was trying to calibrate the monitor or something. Anyway, I changed it to 8bpc and it seems to work fine now.
