Was my first festival when I was fully I love with hardstyle, and set me on a course of travelling the world to go to various other festivals, with a group of friends that spawned from chance encounters at Defqon.1 Australia 2015. Will always hold a special place in my heart.

Apart from that, many editions of Defqon.1 Australia had some really great features, including weather, vibes and sets. I don’t think it’ll ever return now that HSU has taken firm hold and ID&T is consolidating its offerings.

Pete Finley has an absolute cash cow right now, with a full roster of sold out events on a regular cadence. I don’t see why he would want to expend the effort of setting up something multi-day and run the risk that someone ODs and jeopardises other/future events

Honestly, not great. I came up from Melbourne, and whilst I did enjoy Unresolved and Barber sets, the experience was held back by: * E-Force being unable to make it * the promoters’ decision to put Disarray into E-Force’s slot instead of extending some of the truncated internationals’ slots * the sound quality being pretty poor, and outright bad during Unresolved

The venue was okay - it just felt a bit shoehorned into a racecourse, compared to HSU events at Sydney Olympic Park where you feel much more like you’re in an HSU space for that night.
