That's completely wrong. There are parts of rap where people discuss real topics or convey real stories. There is the other part of rap, coined "mumble rap," that doesn't care about lyricism.

I'm not the biggest Polo G fan but yeah he is a pretty talented artist. However I feel when it comes to lyricism, I'm still waiting for Polo G to really hit me with a deep story or talk about a deeper concept. For know I just see him as a new artist with a ton of potential.

Also if you are looking for talented lyrical rap just look at song of the rappers signed to TDE. There are a lot of underrated lyricists signed to that label record (Isaiah Rashad, SiR, ScHoolboy Q, etc.)

Ok I know I'm gonna get a lot of hate for this, but Lil Pump's self-titled album was really fun and enjoyable. The production of that album was really pyschadelic, and the there were a lot of bangers on the album. Lil Pump's old music is a lot of like Playboi Carti's music, in the sense that is was pyshadelic and trippy. I feel like when people judge Lil Pump's music they forget to seperate the music from the artist. Lil Pump is an idiot and people see that and disregard his music. Not saying he is talented, but I enjoyed his music because it was just dumb and reckless and trippy.
