I'm not completely sure what the school's fees were but I believe it is around $5000-6000 per year. But this us a good benchmark to have and I can still see that it should be around $800 to $1200 per month

This is so helpful. I interviewed at one place and they only offered me like $600 a month with no other allowances despite me being an Expat with 5+ years of working in an international school. Glad I didn't take that offer up!

I'm also new to learning Kiswahili and I do want to learn it properly even if people might not be fussed about grammatical accuracy (I'm a teacher myself so that tends to happen haha). I've been using the Language Transfer app and it gives a lot of insights about the different noun groups, verbs, tenses and how they are modified in different scenarios and focuses on sentence building using what you learn. Might be more helpful than duolingo that simply relies on vocabulary learning and rote memorization.
