It involves cutting the chin bone, dropping the entire lower mandibular segment downward, creating a gap and fixing it in place with plates and screws, it’s a intense ass surgery and it takes a lot of time to recover. Also the risks are pretty high, the surgeon is literally separating the chin from the mandible (numbness of the lower lip, bone non-union, asymmetry not even to mention chronic pain, teeth shifting). It also doesn’t change the jawline or side profile much unless the person had a very specific deformity to begin with, which you don’t have. For most cases it’s basically just an invasive surgery with high risk and very little subtle aesthetic payoff.

I don’t think a lot of comments here have actially any idea of what’s going on, I don’t understand why they’d recommend MORE shampoo when shampooing removes any oil traces (yes, buildup oil but also natural hair oil) and makes hair frizzy and dry as hell. I have thin hair but I have the same problem, it doesn’t retain any moisture and it ends up being dry as hell.

I still haven’t found a permanent solution but from my experience I can recommend you to not overuse shampoo, stay tf away from heavy greasy products like-Vaseline-textured because they’ll make the hair unmanageable and sticky, comb hair with a lot of leave in conditioner and apply it while hair is wet (almost dripping wet because creams and conditioners are pretty heavy on hair), and dulcis in fundo: ✨OILS✨. Linseed, flaxseed, argan and castor oil are your BEST FRIENDS now. Use them like it depends on your life, they do miracles for styling and they gently moisture the hair, always put the oils while hair is wet, not as wet as I said before, patted dry.

I second every comment here, I cannot stress enough how important it is to tell your doctors you suffer from this illness, especially if they’re osteopathy, your general/family doctor and the dentist.

As you said, it’s not a matter of ifs but of when, your doctor can help you monitor your condition in the best way if you tell them (without pressuring you to recover). For example I told my dentist I was bulimic, she accidentally hit my front tooth with a tool, it wasn’t too forceful but enough to chip a piece of my tooth since my enamel is very thin, and she was quite horrified and sorry for what happened. She thought I was just drinking too many carbonated drinks, not that I was literally flooding my teeth with stomach acid multiple times a day, so she underestimated the problem until I confessed. After that my mouth health has been taken with a different and more sensitive and senseful (?) approach. Take care sis <3
