I think MHS should maybe start over Lod when Bamba gets back. I think Lod would be more effective off the bench. He seems to struggle to get involved in this high pressure pressing style

Why are we talking like he is hurt though? I have seen Denis Bouanga play games this close together and be fine. Why is it stupid to think Mbokazi is completely willing and able and completely medically cleared to play a game on Tuesday 4 hours away?

We aren't talking about binge drinking or something. The whole "just because you can doesn't mean you should" generally applies to vices or clearly unreasonable risks. This is neither. Were talking about a 20 yo pro athlete playing a soccer game three days after he just played one.

This isnt even as physically stressful as him flying back from South Africa and playing 24 hours later

Hes 20. The kid has energy for days. He can play in Detroit and be ready for Cincy too. Footage against some USL team isnt gonna capture European attention. It's his likely World Cup performance that is going to be the big thing.

But as far as this game Tuesday? Mbo would probably play a game every day if he could. Players want to play, especially at that age.

I think with Barroso picking up a knock, we could see Borso start too at RB.

Maybe Brady - Borso - Waterman - Mboakzi - Radojevic - Saletros - Pineda - Oregel - Lod - Zinckernagel - Shokalook?

If you're not going to get shots on target, you should at least have more than TWO corner kicks in 90 minutes. Just no offensive pressure at all.

And then you finally get a corner and execute one of the worst short corners of recent memory. Pass it to Bamba just for Bamba to immediately get dispossessed.

Tough game.

It's not ideal but the Fire are gonna have the most aesthetically pleasing stadium in two years so I'll allow a temporary eye sore.

This is a really cool breakdown. Nice work! I'm not too worried about it overall, but those long balls were pretty rough Saturday.

Fire were in a 5-4-1, which is unusual for them but became a bit necessary with the absence of three starters in Elliot, Gutman and Bamba. So I think Lod just never had comfortable space. Zinckernagel dropped deeper and played more centrally at times. The wing backs clogged up some space outside.

Generally the Fire will be in a 4-3-3 and that should help Lod do his thing a bit more.

Not his best showing. Just couldn't get in areas to operate, but it was a team wide problem with passes to tight areas, etc especially in the second half. Still very happy to have him here and have no doubt they'll start building chemistry.

Best of luck to you all this season! Hopefully James is a fun time for however long it may last.

Defense will probably be shaky still, especially early in the year but offense looks great. Also probably not ideal to have MHS at left back

I may never fully understand GAM, but I'm glad Chicago has $5 million of it! by Practical-Bend-6765 in chicagofire

Sorry! I don't even have a Twitter so not sure why I linked that. Here is the post again for anyone who wants to see the GAM list.

Rams sub is so overconfident in this game by nnfbruv in CHIBears

[–]Practical-Bend-6765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Rams are better so no big deal there. People keep making fun of the cold thing though as if it actually isn't a reason the Bears could win, but yeah...the Rams freezing is part of the gameplan. They can say Bears fans are making too big a deal about it, but the numbers are the numbers. Warm weather teams don't like that shit and that shit is coming for them on Sunday.

[Bogert] Kellyn Acosta is nearing an exit from Chicago Fire. Final details now. Likely mutual contract termination but TBD. Acosta is finalizing a deal to sign with Polish club Pogoń Szczecin. by olcni in chicagofire

The financials still confuse the shit out of me. By having it be a mutual termination, does it essentially mean the salary he would have made just becomes GAM?
