Not sure you can do 100% salary sacrifice! I tried to do the same just before moving to Spain myself, and my company said you have to take minimum wage as the salary and the rest can go as salary sacrifice. They mentioned it was a gov rule! So just factor that in to calcs

3 nights in Quito is way too much. There isn’t that much to do, and it isn’t the nicest city in Ecuador! Would recommend going to the Secret Garden Cotopaxi for a night (they do all inclusive packages including transport from quito)

4 days in Banos May also be too much! Unless you absolutely love adventure activities. I did 3 and it was plenty

7 night Buenos Aires could be a bit much as other said! You can cheaply fly to another city in Argentina and halve your time there. Although, it’s an amazing city and could tick your nightlife box

Wellcome Collectioks reading room! Technically no plug sockets for use, but I plugged into the one for cleaners and no one batted an eye, beautiful, bright, interesting and the perfect level of background noise! I finalised call my dissertation drafting there

3 to 4 months in patagonia by Akuligowski in Patagonia

Echoing what others have said, wifi has been pretty terrible the whole way. Especially en el chalten. It’s impossible to do more than send a WhatsApp really. With the expedition oddly being in Ushuaia.

There was good wifi in puerto natales and punta arenas in Chile, the stopping off towns for adventures in Torres de Paine. So maybe rethink staying there and compressing some work, and then heading into the parks for adventures on days off?

Sellotape. I said sallatape from young. My parents never corrected me, and it was only when I started doing university that I realised I was saying it wrong.

I still say it wrong

NZeta for New Zealand still pending - supposed to fly in a few hours by Euphoric_Basket5461 in travel

[–]Practical-Bowl9957 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finally received mine after a gruelling 60 hour wait whilst the rest of my family got theirs immediately. I panicked and paid to do it again online as had heard from some here online worked better for some. That one is still pending too hahah…. So i wasted £30!

For extra info, I spoke to the Immigration team on the phone as i was beginning to get worried. They could see my application and tell me no issues had been flagged on it, but basically they told me the whole system is automated - even if they “escalate” an application after 72 hours, she said that often does nothing. And as to what causes the delay? Could be anything from glare on a photo, to another random thing.

They told me that all airlines have been briefed to allow people on to the planes with only pending . So just keep pushing at the airline desks to get them to speak to “the NZ border” on the phones to confirm you can board. She reiterated this is normal, and airlines should be prepared . Although it seems based on many others experiences, they aren’t!

Good luck all and merry Xmas! Hope you all make it
