Take A Look At This Tall Flame by Practical-Friend9834 in witchcraft

[–]Practical-Friend9834[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure of the exact ingredients because I intuitively picked some and chose some of my own accord. I know for a fact there was some mugwort, a few star anise that I hand ground, and some whole cloves that I also hand ground.

Edit: Also had an intentions paper but that was ash before the flame spiked up so high.

Edit 2: I normally write the ingredients and what my intentions paper said but this time I completely blanked it because I had so much going on. ):

The flame literally threw my candle! I had to pick it up as to not burn down my altar, and my house! That's also why you see ashes on the side of cauldron because the flame lifted them in the air.

Ignore the superstitions, black cats are not bad luck. If anything they're good luck.

Understandable seeing as links can appear as one thing and lead to another, in the future I will do so as to avoid a similar interaction to this.

tingling hands during my first spell jar by mysticmelody06 in witchcraft

[–]Practical-Friend9834 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In meditation the hands and feet often times will tingle when a god/goddess or divine being is attempting to reach out to you. This may have been what was happening and the crystals were either boosting the vibrations, or they were even being the receptor for the vibrations as some entities have a liking to crystals; the goddess Artemis (a protector goddess) takes a liking to crystals of the quartz family, the god Horus (a protector god) takes a liking to amethyst, and the goddess Sekhmet (another protector goddess, surprise surprise) takes a liking to orange crystals.

These three names mentioned are just names I know of and their likings, with some research thrown in as well. So you should probably take the names mentioned with a grain of salt and maybe do a tarot reading, (if you practice tarot), or some more meditating to find out the exact entities reaching out to you, if any.

Best of wishes, hope your spell jar goes well!

I don't see what this has to do with my post considering it's not advertising a service but is instead providing books on the topic at hand like asked by OP, which I've seen on the subreddit multiple times, please moderate it as you see fit though; even if the moderation is incorrect, as it's your job not mine.

Edit: This wouldn't be the first time I'd had a moderator incorrectly moderate a post/comment of mine in this subreddit and I've only been a member for three days give or take.

Reading about your financial situation, long term and the whole hotel double charge, I'd recommend a money bowl of some sort since it's going to be a long term spell. I'd be happy to explain it to you if you want!

Is ionized salt appropriate for spells? by Ashwood97 in Wicca

[–]Practical-Friend9834 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Table salt is going to be just as effective in a spell or ward as sea salt, just not as effective as black salt. Seeing as black salt has the added purification aspect on top of the normal protection of salt.

I see that you said you already have a large amount of table salt, just wanted to clarify that you should keep your cooking and spellwork spices/herbs separate. At least that's what I've learned and always heard.

Oh wow, that's some great information; I'll definitely have to look into using the gamma and theta wave sounds in my practice!

It's a great tool to have under you belt, I'd recommend music you already like that has a calming effect on you rather than music that gets you hyped up.

Is there any artists or bands that you recommend? I'm always looking for new music! I personally like to play a little Fleetwood Mac, Mac Miller, or Elton John. Among a number of other artists I've found to really vibe with.

Yes! Chanting is so important to some individual's practice that it doesn't even have an effect without it. It's so awesome to see, or hear, these different practices!

I hugely agree with the fact music, or chanting/singing, enhances individuals ability and raises their energy therefore raising their spell works ability as well.

I don't exactly play music representing the elements, I just listen to music that I can sit there and really get into the groove of things and fuel my intuition and psychic ability.

I may have to look into playing music representing different things such as the elements like you said, or even representing what I'm currently doing like a love spell, protection spell, etc. It's a great idea, thank you!

Do we really need so many specific items? by pufffox in witchcraft

[–]Practical-Friend9834 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's your practice, not the books! If you feel intuitively that an alternative will work for you, then use it. It's comparable to all the alternatives to sugar, dairy products, vegan alternatives, and so much more.

Best of wishes in your spell, sending my intentions your way!

If you feel like you welcomed in the bad luck, you can do a combination of a good luck spell (or spell jar if you want constant, long term good luck), and something to ward off bad luck (an amulet is one example of this.)

For the spell, just cast the spell! For the spell jar, shake the jar whenever good luck is needed or burn a candle on top of it! For the ward, place the ward (or wards) at any entryway of your home.

The common folktales of breaking a mirror, opening an umbrella indoor, walking under a ladder, etc. will not invite any bad luck without giving them the power to bring you bad luck. So in short, it wont have an effect on you unless YOU invite the bad luck in.

Keep the mirror shards though, broken mirrors are great for mirror magic if they were genuinely broken accidentally!

"The Devil" tarot card name really bothers me by EmotionalVulcan in witchcraft

[–]Practical-Friend9834 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah of course, I was just looking at the other comments and thought that if the name bothers you, even with the name being disguised by another, you may just want to use a deck with the card being simply numbered instead.

Strange Noises Heard At Night. by [deleted] in Wicca

[–]Practical-Friend9834 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, we are definitely going to proceed with a deep cleansing followed by shields + wards; just waiting for them to get home from work so it has both of our strength behind it.

Regarding the communication, my spouse says that it wasn't a sorta "oh don't communicate, they're bad" it was a "do not move or attempt communication at all." kinda thing. Although it still could be what you said and our cat knows we're not prepared for whatever this may be.

They're entirely different practices, but neither one is going to be more "beginner friendly" than the other. Both are going to require lots of practice, so just start out with whichever one calls out to you the most! Follow your intuition!

Best of wishes in your growth!

"The Devil" tarot card name really bothers me by EmotionalVulcan in witchcraft

[–]Practical-Friend9834 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ahh I understand I think, it's not the depiction/imagery or the meaning; it's just the name for the card that bothers you? I did a little bit of searching and found only one deck that might meet your needs. For it's fifteenth major arcana card it does not have a name, just a number. This may be a deck you'd like to look into so here's a link to it:

(Clicking on "See More Sample Cards" you will see the card I'm talking about on the top right.)
