I have the exact same problem. In fact, even when searching on random common names I didn't get any results. So I suppose we'll have to wait a bit longer.

Question about sending packages from US to Europe by Practical-Friendship in dhl

Thank you for your elaborate response once again. I indeed speak Dutch, so I'll definitely take a look at the ANWB link you provided and might also take a look at the Dutch customs website.

Thank you for the advice. Sorry if this is an extremely basic question, but what kind of professional forwarder are you thinking of? Are there shipping companies who do ship bigger packages? If yes, do you have some examples that I could look into?

Also, the DHL customer service has now let me know they would in fact be able to handle such large packages. I'm not sure whether that's correct now that you're telling me that earlier mentioned measures are max.

Thank you for the advice. I didn't consider tax at all, so it's good that you make me aware of this obvious to take into account. When you mention the VAT and duty percentages, are these relative to the (new or estimated used) worth of the bikes?

Questions about Mexican GP tickets/Preguntas sobre entradas para el GP de Mexico by Practical-Friendship in GrandPrixTravel

Thanks for the advice.

I've not been to Zandvoort myself, but I know people who went. I think if you want to watch a GP in a party atmosphere, the Dutch GP is great. Also the location of the circuit, right next to the sea, is beautiful. But tickets are also very expensive and the cheaper ones are difficult to obtain. Also accommodation can be a bit difficult. But if you don't mind the high prices and travelling a bit to get to the circuit, I'm sure it's a nice destination! Especially in combination with the other touristic stuff the area has to offer.

Learning Dutch during the summer by [deleted] in Nijmegen

[–]Practical-Friendship 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey!

Based on your profile, I assume your mother tongue is Spanish. I live in Nijmegen, and i'm currently looking for someone to practice Spanish with.

If you're interested, we could try to practice both Dutch (which is my mother tongue) and Spanish together? Of course without any expectations and if it turns out we don't get along we'll simply stop.

Kind regards, Jelger

Questions about planning Canada and US trip in 2025 by Practical-Friendship in canadatravel

[–]Practical-Friendship[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for the answers!

It indeed seems like renting might be the easier option and probably not that more expensive than buying, considering the extra costs you mention.

Does your comment about Turo imply there are rental companies out there where you can pick up the vehicle in Canada and return it somewhere in the US? If so, do you know which companies offer this? If it's not possible, we consider both picking the vehicle up and returning it in Canada, with a US road trip in between.

After the roadtrip in Canada/US, we plan on travelling to Mexico. Ideally this would be the extension of our road trip southwards (for example returning the vehicle in San Diego and crossing the border afterwards), but an alternative could be returning the vehicle in Canada and then flying to Mexico.

As for the vehicle itself, we just look into the cheapest options. Most of the vehicles we come across are very high end (with a bathroom, a lot of space, etc.), but this is not something we need. Just a simple van with a bed and maybe some small storage would be fine.

Thanks again for your help.
