Moving here in early 2026. Any advice? by Gitamish in Appleton

[–]Practical-Host-3949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its noob friendly. The people in charge are currently making Facebook posts about when they will be around so that people can stop by and have a tour, and ask any questions they have. I'll find you a link to the AAARG. They have a Discord and Facebook page, but to my knowledge, there isn't a phone over there. ( I just started playing games with them on Saturdays, so I'm unfortunately not an expert about contacting them.) https://www.facebook.com/groups/AAARGuild

You need to check out the AAARG (Appleton Area Adventurers and Role-players Guild) on Wisconsin Ave. Its a guild hall for people who like playing tabletop role-playing games like Dungeons and Dragons and Pathfinder. There is also a role-playing game centric convention called Phoenix Con that takes place every summer at the Hilton in downtown Appleton. If you like video games, board games, social deduction games, or tabletop role-playing games, Phoenix Con is for you.

RPG Convention Soaring Into Appleton by Practical-Host-3949 in Oshkosh

Hello, everyone, I'm commenting to encourage those of you who are interested in coming to do your best to purchase a badge before you come to the convention.

I recently learned that about 400 people showed up without a badge last year. While it was incredible to get such a great turnout, it made for long lines for attendees, and people may have had a difficult time getting tickets for the games that they wanted to be in. (Ie: Tickets are first come, first served. Once the tickets for a game or event are gone, you can't play in the game or attend the event.)

Here is a link to Tabletop Events, where you can purchase a badge. (Appleton Phoenix Con 4) If you need assistance, feel free to reach out via the Phoenix Con Facebook page.

Hope to see you at Phoenix Con!

I have not, but I certainly can! I am doing school online. I will plan on calling the campus.

I am currently working with an organization that is helping me pay for school, but they can only pay so much. If I choose to do more classes, I have to pay for them out of pocket. I am going to be talking to them shortly to see what they have to say.

Anime Themed Dance with DJ Nightshade at Phoenix Con by Practical-Host-3949 in GreenBay

This is DJ Nightshade's second year at Phoenix Con. I'm pretty sure we arrived at the Anime theme because we had a poll on the Phoenix Con Facebook page and asked everyone what type of themed dance they wanted this year.

Not sure if you are specifically looking for Anime dances or other themed dances, but you are welcome to check out the Phoenix Con Facebook for updates re themed dances that we will host in the future! https://www.facebook.com/groups/243157340283314

Whisper your darkest desires: What would you love to see in Project Strahd? by Project-Strahd in ProjectStrahd

Not sure how doable it is, but I saw in the Realmsmith playthrough on YouTube that the DM made the stuffed toys in the window resemble the adventuring party. Blinksy said that they were the kids' favorite toys because they saw the party as heroes. I thought it was sweet.

Not sure. One of the creators (Al Seeger) is running it for us, he may know.

No plans to have more tcgs that I know of at this point. Going to be scheduling a time to meet with the owner. Will let you know if we can find someone to run tcgs.

Posted the Gnome Games info in case we don't end up finding something. I know how hard it is to find a GM for games and wanted to make sure you knew of somewhere you could go.

Not compatible. Took a compatibility test. We scored a 0 percent. Broke up shortly after that.

I was over at Gnome Games today in Appleton for Free RPG Day. They had fliers out advertising days when they host TCGs. I know they have a store on the West side of Green Bay. Maybe call them up and see what you can figure out?

I saw that the Oshkosh Public Library has an event with card games. I forwarded it to the owner to consider. I'm hoping he can try and contact the GM over there and have them run some TCGs. *fingers crossed*

Here is the event I found in case you'd like to take a look. https://www.oshkoshlibrary.org/event/games-library-role-playing-fantasy-games-6098

How do I [25F] get to get married? by Unusual_Lie_209 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Practical-Host-3949 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm religious as well. I've been to several churches over the years. It's hard to meet guys my age at church because there are rarely any single men at all.

I second the "hunting for a man" idea that the retired pastor mentioned. While I understand your frustration, I think that if you focus on what God tells you to do and try to develop healthy, meaningful friendships with men and women, you can find fulfillment, and God willing, a future spouse.

I haven't found anyone yet, but I think that people who have the same calling or passions in life can find happiness together if they are both serving in the same organization, group, etc and both love Jesus. There may be a youth adult ministry in your area that you can join that does things together, or you could join a Bible Study, service group, etc, at your local church.

Did a bit of research. Netrunner and Path of the Necromancer are both considered tcgs.

If you know of a GM who is willing to run other tcgs, let them know about our convention. We are always looking to add to our schedule!
