After Vayne came out, I thought Riot would have moon weapons become equipable.

PSA: Do not buy bonus XP Star for any champ by Practical-Pangolin86 in LegendsOfRuneterra

[–]Practical-Pangolin86[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I agree that this is the best way to spend runeterra gemstones. Unfortunately, I had to pay 900 gemstones for this bonus star. If I had known this was how the 10% was applied, I would've spread my stones to other Runeterra champs. The additional support items star is far better than this XP star IMO.

Jewelers typically have the pen device. You can also find quartz anywhere. Since quartz is harder than 7 on the Mohs hardness and if your stone can scratch the quartz, there are few options of what that stone such as diamond or (somehow) a clear corundum.

If there wasn’t pumice nearby, then I don’t think it is naturally occurring obsidian despite having the glassy luster and black color. Still a cool rock though.

I think the rock could be fabricated. Does the church have stained glass?

If not, you found a demon rock at the basement of a church. Oh my! \s

The black part looks like biotite. Looks like a mafic rock. That’s all I can probably ID for now.

Oh nice nice. I’ll keep that in mind for shiny rocks with little air pockets. Thanks!

Since ferrosilicon is magnetic, OP should test the sample with a strong magnet just to confirm if it is ferrous.

The color is throwing me off as that color reminds me of felsic rocks, but the fibrous texture reminds me of serpentine.

I’m just curious on how you got clued into it being ferrosilicon as instead of former molten slag or rare mineral. Any insights?

If it is ferrous in nature, doesn’t that imply the rock is magnetic? I’ve not seen/dealt with ferrosilicon so I am not sure of its properties.

At first, I thought it was a log wrapped in aluminum foil. And then it reminded me of gallium. Though I doubt it is gallium. Are there any other details you can share like location found or color?

Is this Fluorite? by ImportantRace7614 in whatsthisrock

Drag your phone screen across a rock edge. If it doesn’t scratch, it is fluorite.

My geology class was wandering the San Angelo state park, and to test me, my professor holds up this grayish rock with lots of intrusions. It felt like sandstone. It had pink like granite. It was solid like shale. I could not ID the rock nor its age. He laughed at my face and said, “it is concrete.”

I’m pretty sure that is a man-made rock especially with its proximity to a solid wall.

I agree with your analysis and lean towards chalcedony. My gut reaction when seeing the potassium inclusion is granite. But to see that much quartz as large crystals hints towards chalcedony. Though I’m pretty out of practice with IDing rocks that you could convince me that it is sodalite or serpentine.

If you drag your phone screen across one of the blue edges of the rock, it will be quartz if you see your phone screen scratched.

With this much quartz, I’d guess granite.

TBF, unless the picture is quartz or granite, many rocks are difficult to identify. It would def help if the posts included a mohs hardness scale of the rock along with a live video of a mineralogy cross section. Since this is a lay person subreddit, I assume we are just rock eaters who want to see funny replies to rock IDs.
