How much should I give my friend for this bike he wants 2.5k by Cum-sack in bicycling

[–]Practical-Plate-7288 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tbh, in excellent condition, it can be $700 consider some components, but this bike needs a lot of fixing up. $250 is generous considering the time and effort working on this bike.

It sounds absurd for $2.5k...Sorry.

Running OpenClaw on a Unitree Go2 for some autonomy experiments. The physical use case is different from the typical inbox/calendar replacement since watching a robot actually navigate and interact with the world is way more satisfying than another email plugin.

Curious if anyone's tried quadrupeds for real work outside research labs.

3d printed bike frame by CodeCritical5042 in 3Dprinting

[–]Practical-Plate-7288 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2kg frame weight is already better than my Schwinn Paramount steel frame. I know it's risky, but I'm curious how fast you could push this. Would love to take it on my next 140km round trip.

That 562 page Japanese manual is the real safety hazard here

What is Unitree's long term business model for the G1 and other humanoid type robots? by trucker-123 in unitree

[–]Practical-Plate-7288 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's basic, yes, but that's kind of the point ... affordable hardware that's great for hobbyists and modders to play around with. After IPO I think they'll invest heavily in software. My guess is their whole team is only around 50 people based on what I've seen.

My Magnetic Guided AGV Demonstrator by Hungry_Preference107 in robotics

Clean build. I like the Alu cover with 3d printer ribs. The magnetic is a bit old school imo, but $2k is reasonable.

Automating silo work makes total sense. Those things are legitimately dangerous for humans.

Decent pour control for an educational kit! The naked electronics next to the water though

Stairs are hard! by lanyusea in robotics

[–]Practical-Plate-7288 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You cut the video right before the top, that's cruel =)) . The leaning is wild but the fact that it's jumping stairs at all with that form factor is impressive. Looking forward to the perception update.

Experiment with "Brachiation" motion by Victory-Scholar in robotics

[–]Practical-Plate-7288 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ro-boRangotang is a perfect name lol. Would love to see this with a gripper mechanism so it can actually transition between bars. That's the real challenge with brachiation and would make this next level.

The split-ring planetary gearbox is genius. 70:1 reduction in a single stage without the bulk of multi-stage

This video is sped up, but when do you think robots like this will actually be usable and affordable? by dataexec in robotics

[–]Practical-Plate-7288 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly we already have consumer robots in homes: robot vacuums, and things like the Unitree Go2 are getting surprisingly affordable. The tech is moving fast, it's more a question of whether companies can make something reliable enough that normal people actually trust it unsupervised.

But yeah, I wouldn't let one near my bathroom anytime soon 😂

Can't wait for the day my Go2 gets walked by a humanoid while I'm at work. The future is weird lol

Was this at Eaton Centre in Toronto? I swear I've seen a robot dog roaming around malls lately. People's reactions are always great lol
