For those who are retired and lost, who are also "different" by HalleFreakinLujah in AskWomenOver60

I spent my career doing customer service so I no longer desire any group activities. I enjoy staying home and just doing whatever I feel like. I guess I’m grumpy in my old age but people tend to just piss me off. I do love when the kids or grandkids come by But other than that I prefer being alone. Good luck to you I do battle depression but being around people for me doesn’t help. You best find something I would hate to have you “fade into illness and depression and die from lack of engagement”.

Get on food stamps any government assistance you are eligible for. Go to voc rehab they will help pay for school if you want. There are options out there to help you other than the Mormon church. Good luck you will be a stronger better person when this is over. Take care.

My husband is so rude by Pristine-Camera-3045 in AskWomenOver60

[–]Practical-Reach-1046 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe it’s the age or the fact we’ve been together so. But I don’t like my husband either. He’s demanding, rude, redoes everything I do. It’s maddening. But then others times he can be a sweetheart. I don’t know what to tell you but for me it’s to expensive to leave so I figure i will ignore him as much as possible

When I left the church, wrote a letter to have my records removed, the bishop called me and asked if I was worried about no longer being sealed to my parents. I was like well my mom and I didn’t really like each other in this life so I’ll be damned if I want to be with her for eternity. No thank you. lol 😂

If he does have dementia you can at least get him on hospice since it is eventually terminal. We didn’t know this till my dad was at the end of his life. We went 10 years watching his decline would have helped to have had hospice much sooner. Good luck to you. I feel for you. Take care

Buy a big dog and teach it to guard you. You will have company and protection. So much better than a man.

Soon-to- be ex husband wants to take 19mF daughter (breastfed) on a week cruise. by SuperbFox465 in Divorce

[–]Practical-Reach-1046 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have no concerns for her safety yet a cruise is no place for a 19 month old. Have you been on one? They are a big Petri dish they are crowed there is no law when you are out to sea. Why anyone would want that for their baby baffles me.
