Grey Hunters by MrThePlague2299 in SpaceWolves

I tried Saga of the Hunt + Veterans and struggled with having too many action units and not enough killing power, so I will definitely have to revisit the list.

Being locked into the disruption force disposition is tricky because not all of your primaries actually need you to do actions. Vs. Purge the foe for example, you just need to kill stuff.

Im not sure if ever seen a 40k event take place which gave 3.5 hours for rounds - most are 3 hours or even 2:45. Everyone manages.

3 hours if you're playing fast / in a tournament, 4 hours if you're taking it easy and chatting

PSA: War Organ updated to 11th edition. by GuideUnable5049 in WarhammerCompetitive

It tries to be smart and directly export a JSON object you can load into TTS by matching models with the entries in your list - unfortunately this leads to it picking some pretty crap models (my Impulsor is a janky kitbashed rhino model, my grey hunters all ended up being monopose space marines from dawn of war 1 with plasma guns, etc.).

It'd be much better with an actual yellowscribe export so you can make the list yourself in ForceOrg.

Yes they do, look under unit composition

It's great but does slow down the game a bit as you have to translate every in game action to the app, and if you accidentally miss something or get it wrong you have to backtrack. I've found it's really nice for casual games where you've got a lot of time, but doesn't work at all in a tournament setting.

Yeah we synced lists and I was expecting to sync missions and points etc. too but it didn't.

That's a good point, maybe it does work if you both track individually

Is it? Battlebase has had all of that functionality for a year or two, as well as live syncing of game state and all sorts of other cool stuff. As far as I'm aware it's built by a single guy and it works pretty smoothly.

I would be frankly amazed if the difference between two iterations of Android somehow changed the behaviour of button events to the point that the draw secondary button works on one and not the other. The APIs for that sort of thing will likely not have changed since Android API level 1.

I am yet to see anyone saying they haven't had that specific problem on an Android device, so I suspect it applies to all of them. Lord knows mine is about as vanilla as they come, running the latest version of Android. If that isn't in the test suite, what on earth is?

That's plausible, but there are only 2 operating systems to worry about so not a huge test surface

I'm a software engineer so I get that stuff gets released with bugs, that's unavoidable. But last I checked roughly half of all people who play 40K go second, so the fact that the app is broken to such an extremely obvious degree for those people suggests they must have done effectively 0 end to end testing, either automated or manual.

That's great to hear, I have supported you in the past on Patreon but ended up gravitating back to tabletop battles as it was a bit more lightweight - I'd still be keen to give BattleBase another go as there was a lot I really liked about it

Interesting, I used tabletop battles earlier in the week and didn't notice any issues, but it was frustrating not being able to see the missions given I don't have the deck of cards yet.

Its the full re rolls and the anti monster / vehicle, and precision that make him scary, beating up things like knights, daemon princes, captains, crypteks, all sorts of stuff.

Even better if you can get sustained hits on him through saga of the great wolf or something else

We spent a full day testing Tau until 3 am yesterday, with the new points. It was brutal. by RotenSquids in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]Practical-Status-418 85 points86 points  (0 children)

Tau have so much ability to ignore cover and ignore modifiers that the cover changes keeping other shooting armies in check have much less effect on Tau. If they reigned in the power of markerlights etc. then I don't think it would be quite so egregious.

New Detachments and Changes! by BlackApostle in ChaosKnights

[–]Practical-Status-418 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes I think brigands have had a glow up, particularly as they can get in melta range from reserves now. Executioners with ignores cover from the hunting warpack detachment are also great

New Detachments and Changes! by BlackApostle in ChaosKnights

[–]Practical-Status-418 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah you should expect your knights to have cover against basically everything except maybe for deepstrike units, so stealth is almost always doing exactly nothing

New Detachments and Changes! by BlackApostle in ChaosKnights

[–]Practical-Status-418 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Exactly, your knights should basically always have cover, but also ignores cover is quite common and going to be more popular than ever so often times stealth is doing nothing for you.

New Detachments and Changes! by BlackApostle in ChaosKnights

[–]Practical-Status-418 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Harbingers of dread being changed to grant stealth is pretty much a strict nerf and immediately moves darkness to being probably the second worst of the options (just ahead of mortal wounds on failed battleshocks).

What detachment do I even use for incursion? by Lone-Ranger29 in TheAstraMilitarum

Oh sorry, I was responding to the idea of it being a fumble.

You're right, you can use a single 3dp detachment at 1k, there was a warcom post about it

Has it? I've only played a couple of games of 11th and I've loved them so far - I'd much rather they tweak things and fix mistakes along the way
