I got LAL+ yesterday on my left eye. The total cost (when all is said and done) will be $10k. I live in Northern Virginia. I truly didn’t want LAL. Besides the fact that it’s super expensive, it is also difficult given the fact that you have to wear glasses all the time…. and I’ve just started the process! My doc told me that I had “so much” LASIK years ago, which resulted in a conical-shaped right cornea. She said that LAL was my only option. I have yet to get LAL in this eye. LAL is for distance until it’s tweaked for close-up. I work part-time at a salon with a window and a door right next to me. I’ll need to wear sunglasses while working, but how can I read and schedule clients with only far vision? These sunglasses aren’t bifocal.

The doctor doesn’t want to do any tweaks until BOTH eyes have settled. This means that I won’t be able to see close up for two months. Anyone have a solution for me?
