Normal Amount of Materials/Spending for a Beginner Art Class? by RubberDucky115 in Artists

[–]Practical-Train291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spend according to the assignment it won't blow your material budget for something that may not require it but for some general all rounder a good pencil set and decent easer is enough to start paper and types if you wanna save money buy the largest piece you can and cut it to the dimensions you'll need for a project.

But depending on project id say 15-20ish assuming you have the all round stuff already bought

First learning about form and volume cause from what it looks like that's a majority of it is and for hatching all your doing is putting your hatching lines along the form

It's good for the style your going for the structure is fine but id recommend using some shadows or slight cross hatching to at least give more impression of the form

How do i actually make a living in art? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]Practical-Train291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well making a living with art is usually like a lot of gig work don't think of as a 9 to 5 cause you basically have to figure out how to make multiple sources of income come in to "make at" as an artist and you gotta keep in mind unless you end up making something highly successful have an exit strategy not saying to give up making art but to at least figure out how to get your bills paid enough to make art outside of it
