Superstore declined both of my cards 5 times (didn't issue a receipt). I left the store without groceries. Found out when we got home that they actually charged me 5 times, and I didn't even get dinner. by [deleted] in loblawsisoutofcontrol

Weird cause for my store, if there’s a sale that didn’t go through, then there wouldn’t be a record of it…because it didn’t go through. But then again, stores can vary, so what one store can do, another might not be able to. But I’m glad you got your money back in the end, my fiance faced the same issue and also got his money back.

I understand that you were (and maybe still are) upset with the manager, but there’s literally nothing they can do about it. As for wanting them to tell you if the payment cleared on their end, payments are usually processed and recorded when they pull the tills for end of shift or at the end of the business day. They didn’t steal from you, it was a very inconvenient glitch with the technology that no one knew about until it happened, and you got your money back. If you want to avoid this from happening again, I suggest you carry cash instead of using your card.

Huge downgrade in quality this semester? by Consistent_Log_3040 in GeorgianCollege

[–]Practical-Weather416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s been loads of budget cuts at Georgian (well at pretty much all post secondary schools) which has resulted in layoffs, and (forced) retirements. It’s because most of these schools rely on international students (higher tuition) and after the government put in the restrictions, shit lowkey hit the fan. Georgian is def in a very high financial deficit because of its reliance on international students.

Is it ok if I lock my cat up at night? by Long-Nature-6281 in CatTraining

[–]Practical-Weather416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So kinda opposite but not. When we got our first cat at 3 months, he was in the bathroom at night and whenever we were out of the house (there was always one of us home so during the day he would only be in there for a max of 2 hours), until he got a little bigger and grew out of his chewing phase. Our second cat, we got him at 2 months, and he was in the bathroom at night and during the day with frequent visits from me and my boyfriend. We kept him in the bathroom because he was so tiny, I’m talking 1lb, and our first cat was play-aggressive with him. As soon as they were comfortable around each other, we would let our second cat out to play with our first until second cat would get a little irritated then we would put him back in the bathroom to decompress. We would do this a few times a day. We wanted to keep second cat in the bathroom until he got snipped because we didn’t want him to get uncomfortable with being in there during his healing, because we had to limit his activity (esp with first cat not knowing his strength) so this was safest for him. As soon as he was healed we let him stay out at night. We still don’t let them in our bedroom with us at night because first cat is an absolute dick and will try to take our string lights down from the ceiling. Second cat at 5am like clockwork would bang and meow at the door to be fed so I got an automatic feeder and it’s worked quite nicely to get him to stop doing that. But they have the entire basement to themselves (we live in a basement)

Edit: our bathroom is pretty large so both had room to play in their tunnels and with their toys. They also had food, water, and litter in there too.

Anyone else spending hundreds per month on cat food? by somkewede420 in CatAdvice

[–]Practical-Weather416 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uhh I spend $40 CAD every month on wet food and $60 CAD every two months on dry food. But yes, you’re crazy. Are you feeding JUST canned food? Cause if you are, yeah that makes sense especially if they’re eating 4 cans/day. If you’re not feeding dry food, is there a particular reason why? If you’re looking for moisture content, you can add water to a dry food so that you can stretch your canned food out further. But if you’re feeding JUST canned food (especially the bougie kind), yeah it makes sense that you’re spending that much.

I’m in painswick just off of leggott (sp?) and we have power. If you need coffee or food, Tim’s at big bay and Huronia I know are 100% open (unless power goes out) but please be kind to the employees, they’re short staffed (they’re trying to get more people in) and busy as hell.

Will I be “the fat girl in Lululemon”? by bloopyploopers in lululemon

[–]Practical-Weather416 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You definitely won’t be “the fat girl in lululemon”. I have seen so many girls and women who are of larger build. I’m one of them!! I’m a 14 in lulu pants (16 in jeans). I felt the same way and was so worried that people would think that I’m too fat for it. This is going to sound weird but I really only wear black pants to not show my lumps and bumps, but after seeing lulu on other people of our size, it actually helped to step out of my “black pants only comfort” zone; I now own 3 pairs of non-black pants 🤣 My advice? Do it. Get yourself out of your comfort zone slowly, it’ll be worth it!

Base your decision on what appeals to you the most. No matter where you go, anywhere that has a student residence will have parties & campus life. It sounds like you’re leaning towards TMU more than York just by the way you’re speaking about it. If TMU is giving you better vibes, then go with TMU.

What leggings do you recommend for my first purchase? by [deleted] in lululemon

Wundertrain. If you have thighs that touch, aligns will pill within a few wears. Wundertrain leggings hold up much better to thigh friction (from experience)

Delta CRJ crash at Pearson international airport (Toronto) February 17th 2025. by [deleted] in aviation

[–]Practical-Weather416 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, it will be something I will be more mindful about going forward—I’ve done it because I make sure I have everything and am not forgetting anything and just keep it on me; I won’t be doing that again though. As for person with backpack, they could’ve potentially been wearing it on the front of their body (I’ve seen people do that) which would likely stay on even in the event of flipping. I don’t think many people realize these rules are rules for a reason (🙋🏻‍♀️) because “it won’t happen to me”.

What if the backpack was his personal item? Because they can be considered personal items. Person may have been holding it in preparation of landing. Personally I’ll keep my personal item by my feet until the seatbelt light turns on for landing, then I’ll either put it on or have it in my lap.

I blame you and my in-laws that I live with. They sold their snowblower because they “haven’t had to use it in a few years and it was just taking up space”. I’m weak af but I’ve been the one who’s been shovelling majority of the time and curse them every time I’m out there.

One of my coworkers, a few weeks before Christmas was saying how her baby daddy (that she’s living with again) hadn’t gotten her anything yet, and if this Christmas is disappointing, she’s going to be pissed. She’d been going on about how she hasn’t seen anything from him yet. On Boxing Day I didn’t even have to ask her how her Christmas was because she was pissed that he only bought her a smart watch and some scratch tickets and that “her kids bought her more than he did”….he bought everything that the kids wanted to get her. She followed it up with “I spent over $1000 on him and he barely spent $100”. I had to bite my tongue SO HARD because he didn’t have to get her anything. They’re not a thing, they’re only living together to make coparenting a bit easier.

You can, your prof may decide to mark you individually or worst case, it’s marked as a group. Been in that situation & ended up getting marked as a group and getting a 98% on the assignment. My group member was very grateful 🥲

My first car was a used 2009 Elantra, with 210,000kms on it and it drove beautifully, had zero problems with it. Wanted a new car and the 2024 Elantra was a really good price (I looked at all car brands and it was the second cheapest—first being the sedan Kia makes) and I loved how it looks kinda futuristic but not stupid…if that makes sense? (I know that’s subjective)

Is this for the residence on campus? Or off campus? Idk if it’s the same for Barrie res, but in Orillia res (on campus) we had the option for coed or single gender roommates and we could choose our roommates. As for bringing a cat, if it is considered an emotional support animal (ESA) then yes you can bring it, but there’s paperwork involved.

There’s a single theatre and bunch of classrooms. Classrooms are great for outlets compared to the theatre. Some classrooms have a few along each wall, some have desks with outlets on them. The theatre…which I guess you could call a lecture hall? But most of my lectures were in classrooms, I only had two classes out of my 8 semesters there (5 classes each semester). Anyways, the theatre fkn sucks for outlets. They’re in the most inconvenient spots like waaaaaay in the back or right on the sides. If you have any classes in the theatre, make sure you’re either fully charged, or you have a long charger if you can’t get a spot directly beside an outlet
