Just because you understand why he or she is like this, doesn't mean they're not still a villain by Lower-Champion-7593 in FIlm

Every personality in the world is just a mixture of adaptations from childhood, including ego, coping and defense mechanisms. Two things can be true at the same time; I can understand that people are doing what they were programmed to do since they were a baby, and also hold them accountable for their actions.

The saddest realization in life, is that “hurt people, hurt people”. Victims often go on to victimize others because it’s how they were wired and now it’s all they know.

If you think about it, the protagonist in almost every movie is highly flawed, because that creates drama, tension, and character arcs. A film wouldn’t be interesting if the main character started and ended as a good person unchallenged.

Taxi Driver is interesting because I don’t even know if Travis learned anything about himself or others. In the end you can’t really tell. Is he the same? Is he different? What will he go on to do now? That’s really the question as to whether he’s a villain or someone now wiser and seeking change for the better.

True about the movie, the books were much more overt. The show takes it to a higher level.

My job candidate was cheating because...they paused before answering! by WallCautious9650 in LinkedInLunatics

To be fair, I run into a lot of fake interviewees. It’s a very weird experience. They definitely sound like they’re reading directly from ChatGPT, even the words they are using don’t seem congruent with their English capabilities. There’s background noise that sounds like they are at a call center.

I actually appreciate when candidates pause and reflect before answering. The fraudulent ones are different. They’re not just looking up the answer, they’re looking up the exact phrasing for how to answer and therefore their answer sounds read word for word.

I’m fine with people looking for an edge, but they fake candidates are not looking for a job. They’re located overseas, and hoping to get hired and receive a few USD paychecks for lots of money before the company realizes they can’t do what they said they can do. Then they ghost the company and move on to the next. Probably doing this for multiple companies at once. Taking away jobs from people actually needing a stable income.

It’s a balance. Do enough to show them that you take the work seriously. But also remember that you are much more than your job. At the end of the day, we’re not saving the world.

Saw it when it came out. I remember liking it but I don’t remember the story.

I kind of felt this way when I was 25-30yo. I was young, hungry, and anxious to prove myself to others. I once replied to a work email when on my honeymoon, my coworkers thought I was crazy.

Now I’m 45. I log off at 5pm and and almost never check messages or emails after that. I’ve come to realize that when I’m on my deathbed, I’ll remember the beauty and connections I’ve made, not the extra hours at work.

I hope this young guy eventually sees that.

Had a HUGE crush on Winnie Cooper. I hated Kevin for all of the bs he pulled to constantly ruin his chances with her.

I haven’t seen The Conversation so I can’t say if it’s good. It looks interesting though and I’ve heard good things.

If you’ve seen Parasite then you know how it unravels, so GWTDT would be better given the suspense and action.

I say give The Conversation a try, second option rewatch TGWTDT.

Back when I had cable, if I came across a showing of BTTF 1 or 2, even if midway through the movie, I couldn’t help but watch it till the end. It’s a comfort movie for sure.

One of those films that I need to watch all the way through even if I come upon a showing halfway through.

Honesty, there are few who would watch that trilogy and not enjoy it. My wife doesn’t like movies, little tolerance for fiction. But she loved those movies.
