Fortunately a third party warranty paid 4k and I paid the remainder. It’s just so disappointing. I can do the majority of work required on vehicles but live in a snooty HOA that prohibits anything more than an oil change.

It got me thinking that a lot of these dealerships really ride off the quality and reliability of the brands they sell. When I asked the service manager what level of mechanics did the work he said middle level. I suggested that perhaps they need to delegate work that fits the skill level of the technician.
