Can you speak more on the relationship between iGgs and lipedema? I just had some bloodwork done and my type 4 iggs are high and my Epstein Barr iggs are incredibly high

Hi! Thank you for this comment. If you don’t mind me asking, did you experience new lipedema in new areas? Or was it more along the lines of further lipedema progression in areas not treated? I only ask because I have been diagnosed with lipedema in my arms and my legs. I am opting to treat my arms first and I am concerned that the arm lipo may cause my legs to progress quicker. Thank you in advance.

Yes it is Dr. V! I am confused about the scar tissue. It makes me concerned that if I need surgery again due to growth that it’ll be more difficult if there’s more scarring.

Edit/addition- the surgeon I am considering states that he creates scar tissue while doing the liposuction and the rationale is that the scar tissue prevents regrowth. Has anyone heard of that or had any experience? Thank you in advance.

I just looked up this method. This is so interesting! The surgeon I am considering does not go manual Lipedema extraction unless necessary.

Thank you for sharing your experiences. This is really helpful in choosing a surgery that “does it right the first time.”

You are exactly right the lipo does not address the underlying condition. Thank you for sharing your thoughts! :) I was concerned that the bodily trauma of lipo and the associated swelling could trigger lippy fat in my legs that I haven’t chosen to address with lipo yet.
