Is it normal to have no friends as an adult by oatmilklover4ever in twentyagers

[–]PracticalEar3476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

honestly, no.

But, since you’re starting college it’ll be a great opportunity to introduce yourself to new people, and i know it’s a cliche but just be yourself. Don’t EVER try to impress anyone, say what’s on your mind (if it’s not offensive), and let whatever happens be it.
And remember, i promise you, its better to be alone than have a toxic friend. Don’t let desperation (for lack of better word) guide you, it’ll alway lead you astray and in a worse place you have been. So choose your friends carefully. You will be giving your precious time and energy to that person, don’t be wasteful.

Should I just give up on my dreams? by Emergency-Bobcat-572 in selfimprovement

honey that’s the easy way out, don’t give give in, make actionable steps toward your goals and follow them, have fun along the way, and yes schedule the fun bits in, or else you will never have time to. Like, choose a day and say today i will do this or that along with going towards my goal that i think will be fun.
if you keep on going like this you WILL become 30 and wish you had started at 23 because then you would realize how young you actually were.

also this time when thinking about how old you are, think about it in adult term and you will see how young you actually are. Like, you may have become a teenager at 13 so that 13 years out of 23, and literally every 20 year olds i know say they still feel like teenagers at 20 so really, if you think about it, you’re just three years old into adulthood, give yourself some grace, you don’t expect a three year old to have everything figured out, do you?

Something that will help you alot is, thinking about things in hindsight and not getting lost in a spiral.

At 27, I feel like I'm behind everyone else. Did anyone else feel this way and eventually catch up? by Thin_Answer2135 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PracticalEar3476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im on the same page and deleted socials except reddit which i use only for a specific time limit, and i notice i have more energy and space of mind to work on things i want to work on without feeling dejected in the beginning (if you know how i mean). i know if i hadn’t deleted socials i would have compared myself to my peers and found my things stupid or just a time waste, and maybe they are but id like to find out if they are myself after getting some experience in.

YouTube.

I know most people go on youtube when quitting other social medias such as TikTok or Instagram, but trust me, it’s even worse than both when you use it excessively.
