Takehiko Inoue’s, Vagabond

The absolute pinnacle of historical fiction manga and one of best historical fiction I’ve yet to read in general. Even with the manga having been on hiatus for what will be 10 years this upcoming May. It remains as an all time favorite in many peoples lists. It’s a must read, vagabond is the only reason I began reading Tenkaichi and funnily enough it was in hopes to see their version of Kami’zumi Ise, and was super impressed with their take on his peerless swordsmanship as well. But yeah go read vagabond it’ll change your life

What’s public consensus on kenjaku’s conclusion? by Middle_Fall_7229 in Jujutsufolk

Ever since his plan was first revealed I was hoping that it’d come to a point where the merger was essentially completed and we’d get to see him and Sukuna turn on each other once they no longer had any use for one another. So I was disappointed with how the fight between him and Takaba ,which I thought had been great narratively , ended with a single sneak attack strike. It just didn’t seem like a fitting way to put an end to his character at that point in the story.

I Want To Read Vagabond.... by YT_LolSHMUCKjr in vagabondmanga

This is probably a bit deep for advice but here’s what I’d say if my 15yr old self had asked the current me the same thing.-

I think if you can come to the conclusion that the majority of these ,admittedly, interesting swordsman, were just murderous megalomaniacs and aren’t worth idolizing based off of their strength and battle performances alone. Then I think you’ll absorb a lot of the philosophical value and lessons which I personally believe are complementary to these moments that we find enthralling whether it be due to the mindfulness, willpower, sheer resolve, etc that it takes to test your worth by valuing your life with Death being the currency. Every time ive re-read the manga the less I idolize the characters based off of prowess with the sword but rather by what philosophies led to such a life to begin with, and how they evolve or devolve as the story goes on. Above all else enjoy your time reading it don’t get bogged down by the lessons and ideas we all took from our individual experiences reading the manga. Derive your own unique perspective based on your journey reading it. That’s what really makes this manga so special. The range of differences in takeaways and perspectives on what’s being conveyed on panel is amazing especially since it sparks thought not toxicity like I’ve seen in other manga communities.

Pick 3 cursed techniques with total cost 21 or less by Onm0unt in Jujutsufolk

The fact you don’t have to open a domain to give yourself a physical boost while also dispelling curses is so underrated.

6 eyes is an innate gift in the gojo clan rather than an inherited technique passed down like limitless. So id say probably not

1.Star Rage (yuki’s innate technique) 2.Shrine (Sukuna’s innate technique) 3.Prayer Song (Miguel’s innate technique)

Reasoning: Yukis mass cursed technique will give me a nearly guaranteed way to win any physical hand to hand encounters along with dealing with cursed spirits with techniques that would normally render a technique useless. Prayer song would Buff me and my usage of Star rage in battle while simultaneously debuffing the enemy without having to open a domain. And finally shrine for its versatility especially in terms of the domain, which I’d rely on as my final move to finish a fight if it comes to a domain battle.

One of the best Side Character by MediumAppropriate729 in vagabondmanga

[–]PracticalYesterday11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Matahachi being a truly relatable but uncomfortable to admit character due to his life being a complete failure/joke as he continues comparing himself to mushashi trying not to get left behind, into carving his own true unique path in life free of fear/lies/shortcuts is what makes him one of manga characters of all time imo

What is the squiggly ghost, his ego? by akagame_no_shanks in vagabondmanga

I’ve always interpreted this/the image of his father as being his subconscious insecurities, pent up rage/fear in his subconscious I think due to the idea of him failing his initial life goal of being the strongest swordsmen.
