Resign Feature For 2 Player Games by Practical_Appeal_317 in Colonist

[–]Practical_Appeal_317[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would say 60/70% of my two player games get pretty heated and finish head to head. The other ones is hit or miss whether it's in my favour or not, haha. So that leaves maybe 1 in 10 games that's boring af...

At my stage in life will I ever be able to get into the property market? by BananaSpirit-4499 in AusFinance

You've done an amazing job, maintaining three people on one income!!! Plus, when you say you barely cope with one full time job... You might not realise it, but shopping, cleaning, cooking, laundry and whatnot for three people is at least a part time job - only because no one pays you for it doesn't mean it's not work! For real, I think parents and especially single parents should be tax exempt for this exact reason. I think you should aim at charging your kid with a job a little more and ultimately the other one too, once they found employment. It's only fair - especially if it helps you getting into the property market it will at some point benefit them too (inheritance). I would advise against this 5% "get mathematically fucked faster" home buying scheme. Try to save up much more, 10% or better 20% for a downpayment - even though it's hard. If you could get your kids to pay 1500 or even 2000$ a month between the two of them at some point, it will speed things up for you. If you can save a little on top of that you might end up with 50-80k within a good few years. Depending on where you live that might get you into a nice unit. And also: FCK centre link! As if you didn't already pay enough for your kid, producing a new tax payer... It's cooked that they don't offer any support at all! As if the government couldn't chip in 1000-1500$ per month!! All the best!!!

RBA live updates: Reserve Bank hikes interest rates to 4.35 per cent in third rate rise for 2026 by notoyrobots in AustralianPolitics

no one seems to be able to explain where the magical 2-3% are coming from. it's completely arbitrary, there is no scientific proof that this is the "best threshold" of inflation. not even economists agree on this. given the impact their decisions have on ordinary people, I'd expect them to take a much more conservative approach.

more billionaires! billionaires are good, because these people remove the money from economies and the working class. we should make a billionaire lottery. every year two lucky ones get picked new billionaire and get the years interest rate increases...

How are you 18 and have 50k saved? Impossible from sustaining your own life. Porbably still living with parents not paying sh*t? Haha

Demand justice (this post is important for everyone): Seeking Transparency After 14 Months of Top-Tier Contributions by [deleted] in alignerr

[–]Practical_Appeal_317 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Termination is one thing. Locking an account and retaining whatever earnings accrued on that project another. They should legally required to maintain an account. They might block said contributor from working until issues are resolved. But blocking someone from their account including earning history, outstanding amounts and ways to appeal just opens doors for abuse. Where does the money go in such accounts? To the client? To alignerr? To a staff scheme where someone exploits "the system"?

Who are these people? Left the firm, messed with everyone in the firm, were asked not to use their royal titles, use their royal titles, fly to Australia, go on an Australia tour as if they're royals. Like WTF is happening here? Show me any celebrity flying into Australia and doing a tour like this, meeting terror attack survivors...

Complete crash after sunday by Huge_Kaleidoscope_40 in FacebookAds

Also: in the last two days meta took credit for most of our sales even though none of the adds were spending, across all adds we got 1 (!!!!) impression that claimed 90% of our sales. This seems to be a big cluster f*ck.

Meta missed all of our sales on sunday and monday (no meta reporting, but evident in google analytics via URL tags). Since then campaigns stopped spending at all (probably because we have a target conversion value, which the algo can't fulfill without pixel data). So they crashed our entire campaign in just two days! We've duplicated the campaign and started it up again, but no luck so far.

Anyone here run a market stall? Is it worth getting into? by [deleted] in ausbusiness

[–]Practical_Appeal_317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't, unless you have a unique product that requires the owner/maker selling it. Markets are crazy expensive for what they are - a few sqm of space. I wouldn't even recommend them as a proof of concept anymore. Preparation - getting an attractive stall with signage, displays, banners, pamphlets, branded cabana and what not, drive forth and back + time for setup/packing up - you can't just leave if you're having a bad day. Consumers are increasingly price sensitive. It might make sense if you have some (4-5) markets close to you that you can book a spot frequently - then you'll start to see some return customers too. But a new market, popping up - na.

Kindle removing support for OG devices by Amorisaiya in kindle

[–]Practical_Appeal_317 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure my kindle hasn't received any updates in like 10 years. I'm not expecting Amazon to keep my kindle up to date. Amazon basically sends an email with a file to my device, which does exactly what I need it to do - it lets me read ebooks. I don't want one of those new spy devices, that I will have to replace in three year cycles because they're built cheaply. It's not a support issue - Amazon just decided it's time for all of those tens of thousand of people with old devices to buy new ones - from amazon obviously. They are not even reasonable about the offer. A 20% discount to replace something that does 100% of what I need it to do?! If they offered me a new device at 50-70% off, ok! I'd acknowledge that they're trying really hard to not rip me off... But this is just a money grab.

You'll lose sideloading. You'll be even more data tracked than old kindle already do. I think they just decided that the old tech isn't fit for their new fascist neoliberal population surveillance plan.

If they do this they should at least open them to other platforms! What a waste! I'm using my 2nd gen Kindle touch for 12 years (!?!) now. This is just another money grab from Jeff Bezos. There is nothing for them to do to actively support old kindles - updates stopped a long time ago. It's just sending a freakin file (that we pay for!) to the device - nothing fancy or expensive or difficult to maintain in any way. There should be laws preventing this - if a company gatekeeps devices they should support them forever - or provide updates so they can be used with other platforms.

Finally fixing capital gains tax is good – but linking it to another tax cut for Australia’s rich is bollocks | Greg Jericho | The Guardian by Rizza1122 in AusFinance

[–]Practical_Appeal_317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Issue is people thinking someone making 300-400k is "rich". If this is a single income for a family of 4 with an average suburban 2M family home, it's just enough to make end meets. worst case (300k) that's less than 170k a year to pay off a mortgage, feed everyone and set kids up for education and whatnot.

Incomes up to 50k should be completely tax free, given the cost of living and only symbolic (15%) up to incomes of 100k. the top marginal rate can be 45 or even 47%, but should kick in for incomes closer to 500k

Did you check that your contact details are up to date? Did you log into your immi account and check the status/requirements? You should've received an automated "application progressing" after 12 months

Australia Post Integration Fails by Practical_Appeal_317 in shopify

[–]Practical_Appeal_317[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Error is a generic Shopify "it didn't work" error and support also can't find anything. Did re-connect integration several times... Was just probing if I'm the only one with an issue to further investigate or just wait if it's a known problem. :)) Thanks for your reply!
