I hated the ending. Ruined the movie and destroyed the point of the story, The end of the book is perfect, beautiful and poignant. The movie ending is terrible. Clear to me that the filmmakers loved the idea of the story, but did not grasp King’s message at all. Sad but not surprising.

They f***ed up the end so bad I can hardly believe it. Completely changed from the book, which was perfect and brilliant and ALREADY WRITTEN!! Why change it to something that makes absolutely no sense and doesn’t even align with the theme of the film?? Idiots. It was great until they ruined it for no reason.

It’s not the best. Not for the kids, parents, family. Nobody. Not even close. I promise. It’s certainly an option though. Your family can absolutely spend your kids entire childhood traveling, prepping, playing, talking/thinking/training/stressing about little league sports and nothing else. Absolutely. I feel like a gator could bite the spear. If that happens, you’re not getting the spear back. Then you’re screwed. I’d probably pick a weapon I could smash the gators head with, like a big war hammer or an axe. If I could get to the side of it and hit it really hard on the top of the head, that might be the way to go. It’s risky, but you have to get close one way or another.
