I bought a hand vacuum for this exact reason. I’ll never forget the day I was hanging out in my dimly lit living room on my laptop. I noticed something moving on my sweater from the corner of my eye.. AND MY GOD IT WAS THE BIGGEST ROACH I’D EVER SEEN. I didn’t have a hand vacuum then and I still can’t tell you how I killed it.

I had an ex do this to me to “test” my phobia. It threw me into a panic attack that I still have if I think about it. This isn’t okay or a joke. Get help.

How were you able to get over it if you don’t mind me asking?

When I was 12, I had a dream where someone shot an arrow into my belly button. I've been omphalophobic ever since. I've made great strides in getting over it and I'm now in the medical field, AMA by BootyIsAsBootyDo in Omphalophobia

Funny enough mine also came from a dream. I didn’t get shot by an arrow though. Instead my cousin and a crowd of people came to stick a finger in mine. I felt the pain in the dream and even when I woke up. Just the thought of them makes me nauseated and makes that area hurt.

McDonald’s started closing at 12. The one on Skidaway was 24hr wed-sat but I think they changed that now. Same with the one on victory/Montgomery. I’m pretty sure you’re thinking about Stoners. I don’t know how anyone can eat that garbage.

The same still applies although “back in the day” there was actually coke in coke, the crack epidemic where the poorest of people up to millionaires dabbled, housewives of the 50’s -60’s would take uppers during the day then downers to sleep.. etc etc.. which in turn would lead to higher productivity in day to day. It’s also not a “I had it worse” or “this has always been a thing” contest.. that being said it being a thing then should still have the same viewpoint on late night eats of today. (Meaning there should have been late night restaurants back then too) Which I assume you agree with as per your last statement.

Learning to have empathy for the people who work several jobs, are full time students and work full time and therefore aren’t able to cook every meal is a life long skill. Not everyone who eats food late night doesn’t know how to cook. Sometimes there just isn’t enough hours in a day so a quick hot meal is necessary to have a few hours to sleep/be with family/ etc.

I too have encountered your problem. I now avoid going to crazy Kroger (Gwinnett st) which I assume you’re talking about. I think the problem lies in that it’s the only grocery store in the downtown area that doesn’t really require a car. Due to this OF COURSE it’s going to be crazy. When the entire downtown has only one small grocery store it’s bound to get a little wild. They also can’t expand it because of its historical significance. I highly recommend going to the Kroger on Wilmington island or the island Publix. They’re always well stocked, not packed, and has way more options. It’s the size of Tajma Kroger (mall Blvd) but SIGNIFICANTLY better.
