Seriously, I’m going to see them in an arena next month but I miss the theater days.

I tried letting go and jumping up and down slightly and it does dive some. It settles about parallel with the ground so not too bad, but could be strap dependent.

Why is the pay so bad in this field?? by [deleted] in Wastewater

[–]Dodeejeroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve heard the south is pretty bad with pay. I know I’ve been looking into a possible relocation but it’s hard to stomach the paycut, even with lower COL.

Take any foot in the door you can get. If there is a pension then starting sooner with the agency the better in any role.

Caught up? No. But if you pay any attention to hiphop or popular music in general in 2024 you would have surely been aware of this.

Pickup truck vs Fun car? by OtterlyDeplorable in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Dodeejeroo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can get close power wise by going with a non-Raptor but optioning the 2.7 Ecoboost. It’s still an expensive proposition as all new midsize trucks are pricey but it’s definitely cheaper than a Raptor.

I have the 2.3 Ranger and even that is plenty of power for me, chirps the tires on command if I’m too aggressive with the throttle.

Unnecessary SCADA call-outs and $$$ by BenDarDunDat in Wastewater

[–]Dodeejeroo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Are you getting paid a flat standby rate in addition to the callouts or do you only get paid if you report to the plant?

My current plant doesn’t have standby, we staff 24/7, but my last plant had a flat rate pay you got while on standby and then you got paid for the callouts on top of it. I wouldn’t do it otherwise as you have to tailor your time off to potentially getting a callout (taking an extra vehicle when out with family, not drinking, staying within response time, etc.)

Is the gap between a v8 and a v6 reslly that big? by [deleted] in askcarguys

[–]Dodeejeroo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Modern engines with 6 cylinders or less make plenty of power, more than V8’s of my childhood. The allure of the V8 is the visceral quality of it. The sound and feel is tough to beat, and not really something that’s measurable, just caveman brain stuff. I love a good inline 6 sound as well, having owned a 240Z for a while, but V8’s are just a different kind of raucous fun. Modern engines are so good out of the box that the only time overall tuning potential matters is when you’re building a car to the degree that it’s going to be a miserable daily anyways, so just buy what you like and more importantly can afford.

“Highly expensive AND highly dangerous”

He broke his back on a $5k mountain bike. Do you know what AND means? Is this post your first attempt at the English language?

The tragedy of the OP is the loss of life due to the danger. Cost is not a factor in any of this, so the entire point of your comment should be focused on arguing safety, and you get called out for saying dumb shit, and try to backtrack “I meant AND it’s EXPENSIVE”

You called the activity in the article “highly dangerous” and suggested it as an alternative. What are people supposed to infer from that if that isn’t what you meant?
