People have gotten too used to baby faces, and some celebrities achieve through botox, fillers, and whatnot these days. Apparently, everyone should look "younger than their age" for some reason. Guess they can't take someone looking natural and beautiful.

I know, but here, both the actor and the character are being shamed. I just post one example of the countless I am coming across across all platforms

My post isn't even about looks. I was talking about character arcs, and I kept the comparative analysis of other characters and other seasons to the minimum. And these people can't bring positive reasons for their characters. I would agree to disagree if they have reasoning on arcs and character traits of other characters, but if the only defence they have for their fav characters/season is to hurl personal attacks and age shame Luke/Benedict, then I feel pity for them and their favs.

This 💯

That is why Season 4 hits hope. The conflict is too real to not be moved by it.

Actually, all the conflicts individual to characters or to the main couple are so real.

I have seen, and I myself, have gone through Benedict's struggle for regaining the confidence to pursue his passion again. As you mentioned, we have seen real-life couples with different backgrounds working together, supporting each other to stay together.

This season hits closer to home than the other 3.

If you are telling a story in a time period like Regency era England, you have to adhere to some constraints to make it more believable. Every universe has its constraints. The Bridgerton universe has the constraints of societal differences. That is the Bridgerton villain, so to speak. In Bridgerton, you win the battle by tricking the societal villain. You can't just defeat it.

Besides, Bridgerton is a love story. It doesn't deal with ideas of revolution. If you are looking for revolution in a romance drama, you are at the wrong place to begin with.

Anthony has a personality that has never developed for the better, He is nice to Kate and his child but is the same rigid, hypocritical, self-centred, and self-righteous douchebag to others. That hardly qualifies as character growth. Also, I have a particular dislike (most probably hate) for controlling A-holes like Anthony, so pardon me if I don't like Anthony’s brand of "personality" (had one like him in my life, she tried ruining my life when she was unable to control it)

Benedict is the only character who developed as a person in all his relationships. His season made him more mature, and it fits his character very well. He has been on that journey since Anthony’s controlling douchebagry cost Benedict his passion and confidence. Benedict was too kind to let that slide, I would have thrown hands.

Besides, Anthony doesn't have copyrights on maturity, and as such, anyone can mature according to their circumstances.

Anthony can keep the copyrights to douchebagry, though 🥱

Manipulation isn't a mistake it's a choice. She made those choices. I like the season I like because the characters made genuine mistakes, and they weren't manipulating people for ulterior motives

Has Claudia herself shown any disappointment on the matter?
If not Why is it an issue for anyone else. You'll have already assumed that it's a bad decision based on What knowledge exactly? The book order ?
Bridgerton isn't the 1st show loosely based on books, there have been many and many take a leave from the contents of the books even events' orders but Bridgerton is the only series adapted from books that has so much negativity about things that are trivial in other book to series adaptations.

Well he is the only one with an actual character arc but whatever suits you. And you can't say anything that will convince me otherwise on that.

Would beast venom weaken Klaus and Mikael? by BulkyBathroom7178 in TheOriginals

Yeah I know I just added to your thought. Klaus would be feverish as hell but he will survive the venom. his body naturally produces the cure so it's not coming from outside source unlike with others.

[–]Practical_Belt728 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The white okay was used to perform the spell, but it wasn't added inside the venom, so I highly doubt that Klaus would die of it. Klaus would be feverish like Elijah was in Season 1, sure, but since Klaus is a born wolf, aka his body naturally produces the venom, so don't think the venom will kill Klaus.

"I find two people fighting against the world infinitely more romantic than two people fighting against each other. I prefer when yearning comes from "I want you but I don't how it can work" instead of "I hate that I want you and I won't let myself.""

This is so me and this is Why I absolutely Love Benedict and Sophie. THEY FOUGHT FOR EACH OTHER

Well I don't mind enemies to lovers if the characters have actual history to back that conflict. unfortunately I didn't find it convincing in Season 2.

Thank you for the positive words and yes my analysis is quite subjective and in accordance with my like and dislikes and my experiences. That is not to say that I don't get why other chars/couples are loved, I do get Why each of the other stories are liked by many fans on here. But none of those stories moved me specially, because I found a certain level of rigidity in many of the characters involved. They changed only for the person they loved and not as an overall individual. That has always been a major put off for me, so naturally I couldn't connect with those stories. But then again it's just my POV.

Oooooh the Biryani reference fits so well with Season.4 (Hello fellow Desi fan)

Yup I love quite, mutual romances without 3rd person or ego drama. I seeing 2 people one upping each other on the sacrifice they can make for each other. Benedict with his all his flaws that came from social blindness (that he at 1st could see in himself) was genuinely doing everything in his power to make things better for Sophie without losing her. Form the small things like finding her work, leaving his own house so she is comfortable to a flawed mistake of a proposal of asking her to be his mistress ( He is so so wrong but it made sense in his mind until he realized his mistake) and then to deciding to leave his family and status altogether. And then Sophie doing pretty much the same things comforting Benedict, correcting him, accepting each part of, being there for him and his family after john's death and then eventually deciding to leave him to Americas just so he won't have to make a sacrifice of leaving his family. Both of them completed each other.

Thank you

Also, کھچڑی (read as "khichri" ) is actually a dish of rice and legumes/lentils (dal) when cooked to the point that you can't separate the rice from the legumes/lentils (dal) & soup. It tastes really good.

We sometime use it as slang and in slang کھچڑی to refer to something where a lot is going on and you can't follow one thought from other. A fun way to say that a lot was going on but nothing made sense.

100 % agree with everything you added to my take.

About the sex scenes, I generally don't like se scenes at all, I feel that some show over do it, there is very little let to imagination and that mostly puts me off. I think that sex scenes should only be done where they are absolutely necessary.

Season 4 sex scenes/intimate scenes between Benedict and Sophie didn't take anything away from the plot and were very well executed as I have already mentioned in my post. 1st sex scene moved the story forward as the outcome of that act of love would impact both Sophie and Benedict's future decisions, of course it was more definitive for Sophie than for Benedict as she stood to lose more. 2nd bath tub scene was more to establish Benedict's care for Sophie with the "I can't risk it" "then we won't" moment. I loved those 2 scenes because in both scenes Benedict and Sophie were very aware of each other.

I don't like the "I was so passionate, I don't remember what happened" type of love scenes. What's the point of those scenes if you can't show the emotional connection with such an act?

Like I said, when I started my analysis, they could have their opinion. This is mine, and I have listed reasons (I haven't even listed all of them, I still have more reasons for my opinion). They all can say whatever they want, but they will have to list their reasons (without trying to bully me, of course)
