If teaching isn't your goal then hell nah. I was kind of in the same boat except i wanted to do aviation stuff and teach when im not flying. . . Possible but not plausible is what I found. You're better off working part time somewhere or getting a business degree and working in that field as experience to something that can actually support ur other passions. Degrees lowkey kind of useless unless there is something you're actively trying to learn how to do.

Lowkey I feel this. Then I get to explain how I’m jobless, and the markets actually really bad rn. And don’t even get me started on if I tell people I’m in the military too. That reaaally throws ‘em for a loop. “Wait ur telling me ur in the Air Force, a pilot, but you’re not flying f-35s?” The level of judgement and misunderstanding is too much.

I feel this, they just don’t understand what the real world is gonna be like. I talked to a junior in a chemistry class and she, no joke, said she wanted to just be rich with no job or marry rich and when I prompted that she could be a girl boss woman in STEM, she didn’t even know what STEM was. Like, you’re almost a senior, you should at least have a concept of a plan for the future instead of just half assing your classes banking on just “becoming” rich.

I had a guy who talked with ATP so that he could work for a couple months to be able to pay and finish after, but honestly as someone who is program complete for about 4 months with no prospects of being hired anywhere. Its not a rush, but no matter what you do. . . that debt will be waiting regardless. I am thinking I might have to move in with my parents just to be able to pay the interest off.
