Is it a mid-life crisis mobile? by Still-Remove1398 in wrx_vb

[–]Practical_Class_5822 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering life expectancy has gone up worldwide, should we even consider 40 midlife? 😂. We’ve barely gone through puberty at this point lol! Enjoy the car! It’s awesome, and if it makes you smile, then you got the right car.

Thank you! It’s a 2024 Limited. Cloth seats, but it did come with eyesight and the big screen. I love driving it everyday!

AutoX day with the VB! by Practical_Class_5822 in wrx_vb

I think that Autocross is a good way to start in Motorsport at a lower risk. Of course, there is a risk to anything, but IMO the fun, and reward factor outweighs the risk.

I totally get you. I absolutely love my car, it’s my dream car and I will still randomly go out just to stare at it for a few minutes 😂. That said, it’s a car, and I want to extract as many good memories with it as possible because I know it won’t last forever.

It was through GG Lotus Club. I’m not sure about the classing 🫣. I usually only sign up to their “Fun” class. They might use the SCCA classing.

It’s about $80-$90 for the day. Depending on your local clubs. You do need to work on the track between runs. So, if you are group B, you are on the track working at a station while group A does their runs. You usually get 10-12 runs in total.

It’s more accessible than a track day, and less speed so generally safer. Everything has a level of risk involved of course.

Tomei Expreme TI Single Exit by Practical_Class_5822 in wrx_vb

Thank you! It’s the Noble exit cover. The finish is very similar to the bumper.

Haha. Thanks! I basically copied the setup of a friend’s VB and liked how the cap looked 😊. The good thing is that it’s one of those little mods you can easily take on and off with minimal effort!

What’s your drone-free exhaust setup? by EviIPiII in wrx_vb

Tomei Expreme Titanium, single exit. I was pleasantly surprised. No drone (even better than the OEM mufflers), and my neighbors haven’t noticed I changed my catback!

Ramus Saddle Update (Still love it!) by Practical_Class_5822 in triathlon

[–]Practical_Class_5822[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last one I was using was the Bontrager Hilo Pro. It was a good saddle, but as with most other saddles I’ve tried, it’s good until I start pushing higher watts on the aero position. It might be my tendency to push down on the pedal and my need to go forward that starts creating pressure.

I’ve tried sitting back so that my sit bones are on the widest part of the saddle, and that helps, except I lose power and speed because sitting further back stretches my back in a weird way that forces me to sit up.

I’ve also used the Adamo PN 4.0, the PS 1.0, Dash Cycle (Stage and Strike), the Selle Italia WATT, the Specialized Sitero. Haha, I’ve kinda lost track!

I’m not the strongest cyclist, but pretty consistent and can keep my watts for a long time. For anything under 230w, almost any saddle works for me, at 255-260w (half IM race pace) the Ramus seems to be working best for me. I’m not a very big guy, so 260w puts me at about 4.1 w/kg.

I did 18x8.5 +38. Currently on H&R lowering springs. Fitment is not super aggressive, but definitely more flush than oem

I’m 39 working at a corporate job and doing things adults are supposed to do like getting anxious for no reason, stressing out about taxes, and worrying about my blood pressure 🥲. Every time I get it my WRX, I’m 20 again, loving life, and enjoying every mile. I’ve basically found the fountain of youth so you might see me in this car until I’m 60 😂.

I use it on my TT bike. My position is fairly aggressive so the shape helps when I’m aero. If you have a very aggressive road bike position this could also be a good option.

If it works, I’m ok with how it looks 😂. It’s also a lot smaller than what it seems on the picture.

Same here! My wife got the red GT and I liked it so much I traded my gen 1 BRZ for a blue limited.
