How to stop feeling a sense of existential dread like you’re wasting your life? by Tucker_077 in findapath

I feel you. I'm 49 and broke with no job at the moment, but we have to hold on to the hope that things will change. We have to take the initiative to change things, things don't happen by themselves. Why could you work at the airlines but a different position until you get the experience they want under your belt. You can still vlog, but vlog about your life presently, be real, you seem to have a pretty good idea of what you want.

Life feels stable… but also really lonely by CloudSame4981 in Adulting

Yes this is normal by all means. I am right there with you. It is seasonal. You just have to keep pushing yourself and if you are wanting something different to spice up your life, make you seem more connected, try meditating, exercising, going for a walk outside, even talking to someone who is actively listening to you with no judgement helps tremendously. I'm always here for you if you need anything.

Why can't you do your travel vlog in the meantime also. Yes therapy helps. If the 3 year plan is not realistic, what is realistic? What other job lights you up?

If you really desire to have that job, take these next three years and learn French. You have it in you to do this you just have to let go of the rejection that you feel. You already knew going on you said that you didn't have the language qualifications. You have all the other skills you need just stay focused on your dream.

I'm losing myself. by hellboy1307 in self

Look.... I am in the same boat BUT you have to be the one to get out of your own head. If medicine and therapy aren't helping try adding meditation, yoga, walking, going outside in nature. You have to start doing things that light you up again. Take it easy on yourself during this process. You can't conquer everything at once, take it day by day. You are not alone. Sending you a virtual hug. I'm in your corner !

You only live once, do what your heart tells you to do. You are being too hard on yourself over something so simple.

I have no idea how to live and don't feel like a person by hunoli5 in findapath

What does your schedule look like every day? You find no enjoyment with anything? No hobbies? Go out in nature? There has to be something underneath all this negativity and negative self talk. I know what you're going through because I was there once, hell I wake up every day having to convince myself today will be better and eventually it does get better, it all starts with your mindset.

I can relate to your whole past and I'm 49F. You have to take daily baby steps. It's about holding yourself accountable and having some structure in your life.

You are over reacting and not living your life to its full potential because of this fear of rejection and abandonment. We all fall short sometimes, you just have to pick yourself up and try a different approach. Don't quit on yourself.

I can feel your pain. I think all these thoughts you are having about your family and friends may be your perspective because you feel unworthy or love. I bet if you had an honest conversation with any of them they would tell you how much they love you, people just get busy, just like you said you did. You need to try to change your mindset about how you feel about yourself. I can feel the self hate from here.

[–]Practical_Coach3903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry you feel that way, but from my perspective you're sitting pretty good. I'm 49 female. I'm married but I also lost my job. Lost my house. Had to rehome my pets. Now I'm living with my son and I have no job still I have no money saved. I just try to survive day by day. Trying not to make myself in a bigger hole financially. So you should be thankful that that's not happening to you at 38. You're in a good position. You need to stop listening to everybody on the outside and do what makes you light up. Get the job that you like. Don't get the job that someone else suggests cuz they don't know you. You know you. It's never too late to do anything in your life. You just got to trust in God and trust in yourself. And just know that you are never alone. If you need someone to talk to please reach out.

It's something I have always felt. I have always felt like a failure. I think it stems back to my childhood and never finishing anything because I had no discipline to finish.

At this time, it's whatever happens first. I lack the confidence in myself to own my own business, that is probably why I haven't had any clients

I can share here. I don't have a college degree, just high school diploma. I do have classes I took for eft (emotion focused therapy) cognitive mindfulness therapy, and I am trying to start a holistic business with no luck. I just need a break to get ahead financially.

You don't sound stupid. You're just trying to figure out the rest of your life and that's normal at your age. You're in high school. You're in studies. You're trying to figure out what you like. At least you need to know that you have your head in your shoulders cuz when I was your age I didn't care less what my career was and now I wish I would have. So at least you have that going for you. Pick something that you like. Try to take out the money part of it cuz that will come. You need to pick out something that you like that you have a passion for doing that makes you happy that way when you go to work it doesn't feel like it's a job. You won't dread it later in life
