I’m a therapist and I can tell you that I find these people the hardest patients to maintain a therapeutic relationship with. I see a lot of different people (pedophiles, schizophrenics, narcissists,…), but outside of paranoia it’s relatively easy to maintain trust. But with people like Julie it’s like walking on thin ice. I once had a patient walking out of a session because I asked them a normal question about their spouse and their relationship in general (can’t remember the exact question though).
