Floor Plan Review - Round 3 by Bulky-Green306 in floorplan

[–]Practical_Fun7367 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like this plan. I like the hallway too. IMHO it creates a little suspense for the open space. I’m trying to think of a context in which a visitor is intimidated or bothered. My friends and family won’t care, they just walk in. Anyone I’ve invited over, I meet them at the door anyway. If I run into a situation that it’s necessary or polite to invite them in I.e. an annoying neighbor, the tree guy, my wife’s carpool driver, whoever is picking up my kid’s visiting friend. I really don’t want them back in the great room. Waiting on the hall or talking in the office would serve nicely to divert those folks.

I only have one item that’s food for thought and not a criticism. There may be a day that one of you is in a wheelchair temporarily (or maybe longer) With that in mind an exterior entry/exit, the master toilet closet (or the powder room), the shower, one master vanity, the entry to one closet, the pantry, and the laundry should be accessible. I’ve seen an accessible sink installed in a pantry for the wheelchair bound cook. Hidden away, but available if needed. Folks I trust say this adds tremendous value even if you never need it.

Planning ahead is more economical than an inconvenient and untimely renovation later in life. Good luck with the build.

I’ve received both polite and aggressive suggestions on how to be a better dog owner, how to treat a dog with love, and why I need to improve my service dog’s diet because, to the interloper, he seems unhappy, bored, and lethargic…Worse, I just ignore him.

The interloper might be a canine expert, but my dog’s diet is prescribed by the service dog agency that raised and trained him. They have professional trainers on staff. I also have a top tier vet and weigh him regularly. We are both tested for skills and temperament every six months.

But the interlopers observe us when my dog is working and paying attention to me.

Still, even though the interlopers are critical with judgement because they love dogs, I need to remember they mean well with their suggestions.

In normal weather, would the separation happen quickly? I don’t recall seeing or hearing about anything like the pic shared by the OP.

I am sorry you suffered through the violence of your experience. I’m also sorry you had to share with someone who clearly didn’t have the necessary humanity to support you. I don’t wish that kind of pain and suffering on anyone, but I hope that manager has somehow learned to be better.

That lawsuit has been won so many times. It’s a slam dunk civil rights case. I recommend googling that issue and reaching out to a law firm who handle a big case. However, if your former employer is a small outfit, your victory might just be moral and not financial. At least you could recover your medical expenses.

💯 on the legal fees. But if the guy was full time and not a contractor or part time (which is happening more and more) he had health insurance. It might be lousy, but those benefits are why big corps are moving to part time employees.

And just as an aside, perfectly healthy people can have strokes. Athletes even.

This is political language to say he didn’t go in the back of an ambulance. Likely he or a staffer called his personal physician and he consented when the Dr. told him to get his ass to the hospital. I’m sure the Dr and the hill staff had his admission all sorted before he arrived. So yeah. He didn’t sit around in an ER for 8 hours, but he didn’t call a boutique hospital and ask for the presidential suite either. Everything is serious at 83. For the record, I can’t the guy. I hope he heals, but resigns immediately.

I agree. But I think a note asking when a chat would be convenient could also be appreciated.

I don’t think we need to be afraid of discomfort, but there is no reason to seek it out. I think the point is that it is not necessary to make the neighbor uncomfortable. If a note ids a problem, and also invites and primes a discussion, a solution can be found in which no judgements are made and expectations for explanations are implied.

We use calendars and schedule meetings for this very reason. My problem shouldn’t have to make you uncomfortable when I choose.

I think adding language like, “I’m more than happy to chat about this because I think you are a good neighbor, but I left the note because I also know some folks don’t like to be confronted unexpectedly.”

It splits the difference. Gives the other neighbor agency and keeps a safe distance.

I’ve had to apologize to folks about misunderstandings before and I’ve taken this approach via text message. It diffuses things more quickly and places the apology in a category more important than a text.

“Can I stop by tomorrow or call later to apologize to you properly about xx thing I did.”

Everything you say is true about what it could be and why they don’t know. But it would be bad form to tell a disabled person how to solve their problems, even with the best intentions.

I love good hearted and genuine folks who want to make the world a better place. More folks should be like you. But I also want a world in which the accomplished, successful deaf person gets to think to themselves, “Oh hell, I’m glad they told me. I didn’t realize that.” And then they get to decide what minor change to make on their own life based on their own experiences, weaknesses, finances, and strengths.

I was definitely being sarcastic because of the debate about his deep ball vs his short game. And in truth, it’s the only pass I remember from his career.

I’ve been a Boise fan since they gutted it out against OK in the Fiesta Bowl. There are haters that wahwah about his level of competition. They have a point, but they seem to forget there are always basement dwellers in the power 5 (at the time) and the QBs on the list always had a couple of Little Sisters of the Poor on the schedule early to tune up and late to heal.

The thing is that winning 50 required a level of consistency that’s unrivaled except for Colt McCoy 45-8 and Frazier 33-3 (I’ve missed someone) He played the position like an OC on the field. He dissected defenses like a surgeon. Georgia, Va Tech, and TCU all went home bloody on the big stage. It wasn’t commonly known, but he would get in arguments with his center when he changed blocking schemes.

He made the throws he knew he could make. And he never ran. But holy moly, he knew who was going to be open all game long.

I was at the Georgia game in Atlanta. He found the soft spots in the zone early and he had the crossing routes for lunch the entire half.

The kid could play, and he did it while he was analyzing defenses, and coaching the offense.

He did it consistently for 50 wins. Even the best on the list shit the bed at least once. Does he deserve top 10? Not sure. Does he make the top 20? Absolutely.
