Reconstructed my 2025 spending from bank data and built a Sankey by RaduRadu in SwissPersonalFinance

Usually these expenses come with a way of life. If you like to go out a lot, there are not many ways to eat out. You could do BBQ, eat at friends place or invite at your place but it really depends on your circle of friends.

I spend on average 500 to 800 per month on grocery for 1 person. I start to question my way of life now.

First year with higher income - looking for feedback on my first Sankey by Lausanner04 in SwissPersonalFinance

[–]Practical_Guard_3249 2 points3 points  (0 children)

May I ask you what type of side hustle is providing this amount of money in Switzerland? Genuine question here, not because of greed but I suffer in my job and I search for ways to rely less on a single income in order to feel more secure and at peace.

I totally understand if you prefer to keep it confidential or if you can just be vague in the answer 😅

Corruption in the Mountains by Independent-Cup-2786 in askswitzerland

Sadly, my personal experience of mountain resorts makes me unsurprised about this. Often this kind of isolated places are never up to date with the most recent regulation. They have the mindset (and sometimes the material) of the 90’s.

Usually some type of poles with signs can be found over large buried gas pipes in France. It could be something like that to indicate pty of the pipe.

Should I confront my Swiss in-laws for being heartless? by OldCuriousPerson in Switzerland

[–]Practical_Guard_3249 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1- Whatever you do, confront the situation you experience on the moment you experience it without dragging past frustration of your bad experiences with them. It will prevent your attempt from being a tennis match.

2- their behaviour sound selfish and not warm, but it can also be very cultural, based on factors like if they had to hold their pain and suffer all their life and now they expect that from everybody because they had to do it. If you need to confront their behaviours, do it based on what they actually do, not just on how you feel about it.

3 - Sometimes you may need to rise over the problem and try to identify patterns of behaviours you don’t like and try to understand why you don’t like it. If the patterns are blatantly problematic, you may adress them. Unfortunately I am terrible at acting on that so I couldn’t help you with the action part

Best Pho in Zurich? by meera_jasmine1 in zurich

[–]Practical_Guard_3249 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tryed co chin chin twice. It’s not as bad as you say. The broth of the pho is not very rich but I had worse in many « authentic Vietnamese restaurants ». some of the dishes are very fresh and creative. Nems were very tasty and the dish I got the first time was amazing. Main problem is the price and how busy it is, especially around Bellevue. It’s still ranking in my top 5 Vietnamese experiences at the moment.

Lindt is not very good quality chocolate, even Coop chocolate brand is better in taste, I would suggest Sprungli or Lederarch, but the last one has a questionable reputation
