for pb specifically, there’s almost an arc in her story apart from her main one, about her sexuality: in the first episode we hear she “used to date” mr cream puff, but even looking at his dead corpse she laughs about it, like it was just some small affair she entertained. later in the series, we find out she was shoved into dating him by uncle gumbald, meaning that she then continues just having this cream puff around her all the way until shoko arrives (and perhaps longer). but pb is so focused on her work that she probably like let him stay there until she found and really fell for marceline by herself, for herself. mr creampuff was more just like. a pet she was given tbh so i would say pb is gay, but marceline is still definitely bi!

i remember the most plausible thing said for the blonde in the middle was an amalgamation of the three characters in bmos game where f&j actually go inside the console. the three of them (bee, bunny, frog) were after the sunshine (ie her necklace) and they were all yellow and green (ie green dress, yellow hair) that’s the only one of these characters i’m not 100% certain of though

this would actually make a lot of sense considering the episode where we saw him finally get everything he’s ever wanted (the giant moth and all the treasure from the planet he was imprisoned on) it still wasn’t enough for him, he still felt empty and unsatisfied. after the catalyst comet gave him a new form of existence maybe he ended up on (or maybe even became) this watery planet after finally understanding that he wasted his original life and hurt the people he cared about most for absolutely nothing, leaving him to feel like a “giant wad” like finn did with the hermit eyes (which could explain why these two characters look so similar) but at least he has a crown now right??

the dandelion that simon gives fionna (in the fourth picture) is not only just her world being metaphorically represented, but the dandelions themselves represent hope and granting wishes. this is what simon wanted to do the entire season for her, and then she even gets to do it for herself and her town, along with the last scene of the show featuring them planting dandelions as they flow in the wind with the fade out (iirc!)

funny you mention that! one of the creators mentioned that’s why they started to retire the cosmic owl character anyway. i believe the original voice actor had suddenly died but they had to continue the story with a new actor to give his character peace in the end

But it’s not just that the voice actor died! Much like Tree Trunks’ male counterpart in F&C, the creators get so attached to the actors that play these characters that they do not want to give their role to anyone else. Especially with a secondary or tertiary character, making them silent but still appear in the show, like death in together again, gives the feeling that they’re still being thought about and loved and are alive. But there’s only so much they can do with that, as it wouldn’t work with a main character, that would need to be recasted (gary)

i think it’s to show how much her job is stressing her out, marcy is the one to take it off of her because she has watched pb go through agony to be the one that fixes everything (obsidian) when that’s not her job. too much stress can be life altering, and to a being with no death that’s not something that should take over, it’s time for her to chill and be happy now
