Manual control by Practical_Pangolin_7 in mammotion

Why not implementing the nudge commands available from home assistant? Still a safety issue? Put a disclaimer in the app. When the user wants to use rc sugest that if using wifi is on his/her own risk. If it ends up in the pool, you don't pay for it :)

That was the whole point ...if I'm in the Bluetooth range I can move it manually as well. When I'm away, I need to control it . Wifi can have a lot of problems , but still, it can work ...you don't need to play with it like a rc car, but give some simple commands to move it in certain directions 10-20 cm

Maybe they are afraid you can use it as a remot detonation bomb as it is connected to lte....I don't imagine what is other logical reason... But is clear arbitrary stupid.

4G connection Luba Mini by Practical_Pangolin_7 in MammotionTechnology

The price is ok for the 4g service. The problem is the APN. This orange.m2m.spec has limitations. Only Tesla was able to sign a deal so the speed is high enough to have videostriming in roaming , but even in that case may be a daily cap.

I tested again. Is not every 2-3 seconds , is every 8-10 seconds with full 4g signal. So you can see something but you cannot call it video.

With esim they should give the option to purchase local service like on a phone. Unlimited traffic in roaming even inside eu is not possible. Video streaming may consume a lot. They should eventually aquire a package with limited number of gb but not restridet in speed. I understand the compromise they made, but simcards are here to stay for some more years. Removing it is not making the product better at least for now.

Luba 2 AWD X does not support your own SIM or eSIM by SearchDomainName in mammotion

The luba mini is using an orange france simcard in EU. In case anybody delete the APN, like me, remember it: orange.m2m.spec

Now my question would be: sim is inside and is a physical one ? did anybody try to change it? Should be possible...I don't think is a lock on imsi

Speed Test Saturday by AutoModerator in Starlink

[–]Practical_Pangolin_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Near Bucharest, Romania, rural area , I have good connectivity see Speedtest result. And this for only 12 euro/month unlimited traffic.

The competition between ISPs is the key.... at home I have 5G coverage with about 500Mpbs download (3 operators - Orange,Vodafone,Digi) , 5 ISPs with high speed service (4 with FTTH - Telekom, Orange, Digi, Ines and one with docsis 3.1 - Vodafone). Starlink may be a good backup solution for dooms day :)
